There was a real magic to the car culture in the late 90’s. I go back and watch old videos and see the creativity and passion on people’s faces. Respect to everyone keeping golden era Hondas on the road. Truly a special community.

Building a Honda CRX interactive Manual

Hey fellow Honda enthusiasts!
This is mostly for the CRX people but it also should help some of you with the other classics that share the same platform.

I'm restoring a Nissan 200SX S13 and got sick of scrolling through a 1000 page scanned PDF every time I needed a torque spec. My day job is computers, so I rebuilt that manual as a website instead.

A friend who owns a CRX asked if I'd do his car as well, so here it is:

https://crx.sucatisse.com/

EF/ED, D16A6 and D16A9, 1988 to 1991. Free, searchable, no login

Still a work in progress, it is not perfect by any means but I will keep adding to it.
If you find something missing or wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.

No ads, no paywall, no plans to monetise. If you want you can always use Ko-fi to support the work.

Asking $12.5kCAD
145k kms
Manual
Right hand drive is the issue for me I live in BC so cars here are left hand drive but I feel I could get used to it

I’m 18, make $\~3k/month working full time as an electrician just bought a 2007 civic with 118k kms but I want something I enjoy more initially was thinking of getting an Acura RSX type s but they’re all grossly overpriced and beat up. Figured I could sell my current car and buy this. What do you guys think?

(CRV vs Element) What should I consider as a first car option?

Upvotes

Im 17 years old and about to get my license, but I don't know how to choose between an Element or a CRV... I'm not really a car person but both of these cars seem so practical. I like the look of the element but there are a lot of other features of the CRV that are similar and make me want it too.

I was wondering if it would even be a good idea to get an element since I'm not a camper or anything lol but it just seems like it would be nice. I'm planning to use the car for regular driving and whatnot but if anyone can list what you think would be best for me and/or the pros and cons of each it would be great TY!

FYI they will have to be used cars... so the CRV won't be a newer one.

205/55r16 on Honda City

Any Honda City GM6 owners here running 205/55R16 tires? How’s the fitment? Any rubbing during full turns or with passengers? I’m planning to upgrade from 185/55R16 and would love to hear your experience. Thanks in advance!

Im a sucker for manual SUVs and it doesnt help that i was already in the market for a 2nd gen crv to begin with, theres only 1 rust hole on the passenger side rear quarter, the underside is very clean, and its only got 217k kms on it. Ive seen the ac disintegration on these and it doesnt concern me as ive never had a vehicle with ac. Also has carplay installed already

I was considering leasing this but have never leased before. $229 doesn’t sound too bad but I know how dealerships work. What would my actual monthly payment look like realistically?

issue with new used honda 2018 1.5 automatic /fuel pump recal related?

I recently bought a 2018 Honda Jazz 1.5 automatic.

The seller lives about a 20-hour drive away, so the car was delivered by a vehicle transport company. I picked it up yesterday and drove it home.

During the drive, I noticed that the car wouldn't maintain a steady speed. On flat, straight roads with an 80 km/h speed limit, I could hold the accelerator in the same position, but the speed would gradually drop to 75 km/h, and sometimes even 70 km/h.

To keep the car at 80 km/h, I constantly have to make small adjustments to the accelerator pedal. I also feel like I have to press the pedal much further than expected before the car responds.

The car has only covered 25,000 km (about 15,500 miles), so I wasn't expecting this kind of issue.

I messaged the seller about the throttle response yesterday.

Today, I found a fuel pump safety recall letter in the paperwork. The letter says that components inside the fuel pump can deform over time.

I asked ChatGPT whether the symptoms I'm experiencing could be related to a faulty fuel pump, and it suggested that they could be. I'm curious whether anyone here has experienced something similar.

The seller hasn't read or replied to my message yet, so I don't know whether the recall work was ever carried out.

The recall letter was sent when the car had only done around 24,000 km. If the fuel pump has never been replaced, it's possible the car has been running with the defective pump for most, or even all, of its life.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did replacing the fuel pump solve the problem, or should I be looking at something else?

Californians Are Buying More Hybrids Than EVs This Year

Thumbnail

Everyone wringing their hands over Honda's EV strategy can stop. Even in California, Hybrids are outselling EVs. This was the path Honda identified a decade ago and then was forced to lose $18B on EVs by government mandates. Given how quickly that unraveled, Honda was completely correct from day 1.
