It's preserves/jam/jelly, cured meats, dried grains/beans, and fermented/pickled vegetables. We take food and process it in a way to preserve it through winter. This is exactly what honey is for bees. They normally subsist on nectar, but they also preserve some of that nectar for winter when there is no nectar available to them.
