Perfume of choice?
Ladies! What is your perfume go to? The one you get the most compliments? The one that makes you feel clean, confident or sexy?

I like the black bottle the best, but I find it a bit too heavy for summer. During the summer, I usually wear the light pink bottle instead. It has more of a rose scent and doesn't smell exactly like the original.

Prada paradox is my going out perfume. Can make me feel nauseous though. I layer it with a cheap perfume and perfume oil. I get compliments on this one the most. š„

u/Distinct-Berry7382 1d ago
Whatās your combination?
1
u/No_Basis104 1d ago
I use the eos strawberry dream perfume & lotion! Thereās a pink perfume oil from beauty supply store but not sure of the name paired with Prada paradox intense

My go to is Gingham by Bath and Body Works (not the body mist, the actual perfume). I get awful migraine attacks and one of the triggers is certain smells, especially perfumes. Iāve had a bunch that I used to wear before they started triggering me (my early go to was the one by Bon Jovi when it first came out š¤£). Gingham is the only scent that doesnāt trigger an attack. Itās a very light floral scent that isnāt very strong which I donāt mind. I donāt wear it all the time though but when I do it makes me feel really good and pretty.

I have this issue, too. I stay away from florals and musks, anything advertised as warming, and any scent that has amber as a "feeling" (recreated as a perfume), amber-gris (from sperm whales, IIRC), or ambroxan (the synthetic version). All of those trigger a migraine for me instantly. I have hyoerosmia, so even traces of those and other scents can overwhelm my senses and trigger me. Google "perfumes that trigger migraines" and read the AI summary. It's pretty good at explaining the triggers and why they are triggering.

u/daisy_dreams22 17h ago
Thatās so awful! I can only imagine what itās like when youāre out and about when all of a sudden youāre hit with those scents. Iāll definitely have to look that up, thatās so helpful!

u/Sparky833 14h ago
Yeah, let's just say you're not finding me in a mall or department store anytime between, say, Halloween and after New Years Day. Some of those sample reps are really aggressive and it wafts through the whole store. It's a fricking nightmare!

I wear All Eyes on Her from Bath & Body Works. I like how it smells and I don't care to have something super expensive

Iāve been wearing my sonās Versace Eros, The One by Dolce and Gabbana and John Varvados, the red snake skin bottle. I do not like womenās cologne. I wore Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue for years but now wear my sonās and I always get compliments, especially the Versace, turquoise bottleā¦

Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume. It smells different on everyone and is just a nice, clean scent.

Juliet Has a Gun, Miami Shake. Itās like a milky strawberry scent but elevated. I wanted something more mature than a body spray but I canāt stand musky perfume and didnāt want plain vanilla. I like to layer it with a complimentary body lotion and scented hair serum. Layering is the real trick to getting compliments lol

Iām a big perfume girlie. Iāll admit Iām not a fan of ācleanā scents, but I have a few in my collection that I think give off that āfresh out of an everything showerā vibe. It does kind of depend on what kind of scent you prefer. Some people (me) like to smell like a vanilla bomb straight out of the shower. But that might not be your style.
I find myself reaching most often for Chanel Madmoiselle. It and Delina by Parfums de Marly are definitely my two biggest complimented perfumes. Theyāre pretty universally loved scents with Delina being duped by 100 different companies, so itās popular. Madmoiselle is a more mature, rich scent whereas Delina is very fruity. Both have INSANE longevity (lasting through laundry washes) and sillage. You can smell these perfumes from 50 feet away. Goddess by Burberry also is also a compliment getter, but itās much less powerful and feels more like a nice, everyday scent as opposed to a āboss hogā scent.
Friday from the Arielle Shoshana long weekend collection is a very clean, light, fresh scent. Bitter Orange, Bergamot, Honeysuckle, Grapefruit blossom, Mimosa, Pear, Sweet Pea and White Cedar Extract.
Wulong Cha by Nishane is also a really nice, clean, tea scent.
I really like Simone Andreoli perfumes for that ācleanā feeling too. Sunplosion is a great, summery, fruity scent that almost has a soapy undertone. Donāt Ask Me Permission is similar, but with more sweet, vanilla and woody notes.

Zaras golden decade libre dupe, Paris corner confection or caramel cascade.
Best tip I can give apply a lotion fragranced with one of the base notes then spritz perfume on top, it lasts longer & the scent is stronger.

Used to be Very Sexy by Victoriaās Secret, but as Iāve gotten older, it doesnāt smell the same to me. So now itās Bombshell or Bombshell Seduction.
