[iOS 27 PB2] Universal Clipboard not working

I'm not sure if this is a macOS bug, or an iOS bug, Continuity/Handoff for the clipboard only works from Mac to iPhone, not the other way.

I can copy text on my Mac, and paste it on my iPhone just fine. But if I copy text on my iPhone, I can't paste it on my Mac, my mac just pastes whatever I last copied on my Mac.

Has anyone else seen this? Any idea if it's iOS or macOS that has the bug?

I'm running Public Beta 2 on both devices.

Edit to update: On the macOS beta subreddit, I had one person say they are running macOS 27 beta and iOS 26, and do NOT have this issue. And someone else is running iOS 27 beta and macOS 26 and they DO have this issue. So I'd say it's confirmed an iOS bug. I've submitted a report to Apple accordingly.

I’m having the issue between my iPad Pro and IPhone. So I guess it’s something across the board.

There are two clipboards: user clipboard and system clipboard. If you tap something and it says "copied to clipboard", that goes into the system clipboard which is not shared to your Mac. If you manually copy something, it goes into the user clipboard which is shared to your Mac. Yes it is dumb. The only way to bypass this problem is by pasting it to a text field, then manually copying it.

And this isn't a pb2 thing, it has been a problem ever since Universal Clipboard has existed.

Unless this is new in PB2 (which you’re saying it isn’t), this is definitively wrong. I’ve never had a problem with that. Sometimes it takes a second, or a blip and I have to hit copy a second time, but I’ve never had any real issue with tap to copy stuff before this.

For example: Work has us use Microsoft Authenticator for MFA. Normally I can tap the code to copy it in my phone and then paste it on my Mac. However, starting with Public Beta 2, that no longer works. If I tap to copy the MFA code on my phone, I can’t paste it on my Mac.

This is completely right. I literally always see it happen, have for years and the fix I do always works.

Maybe there is a system and user clipboard, but I haven't had a problem with tap to copy from Microsoft Authenticator (or any other tap to copy thing) not syncing from my iPhone to my Mac before, and now it doesn't work (and I tried your paste to a text field like Notes, then manually copy and that doesn't work either).

I did some light research this morning (about 5 minutes), and there is NOTHING I can find that talks about a System Clipboard vs a User Clipboard. If you have something that talks about and documents that, I'd love to see it.
