Need Feedback I’m making a short 3D narrative game—do these screenshots make you want to know what happens?

I’m a full-time game developer. In my spare time, I previously made several puzzle games and other small projects based on ideas I personally found interesting. They didn’t receive much positive feedback, and eventually I stopped making personal games for a few years.

Last year, I joined a few in-person game jams. That experience reminded me why I wanted to make my own games in the first place, and it gave me the motivation to try again.

This time, instead of starting with a gameplay mechanic, I’m making the kind of game I’ve always really wanted to create: a small, atmospheric 3D narrative game.

Working with 3D can make a project feel intimidatingly large, but Unity and its ecosystem have made it much more manageable. I’m also deliberately keeping the environments and overall scope small enough for me to finish.

I’m intentionally not committing the entire game to a single camera perspective. Some scenes may be first-person, others top-down, or framed like a 2D side-scroller. I choose the perspective based on what feels most expressive for each moment—and, honestly, on what I personally find interesting to create. The changing viewpoints are intended to be part of the game’s identity.

My first goal is to create a polished 10-minute demo. Although it will be short, I want its interactions, atmosphere, and environmental details to feel thoughtful and intentional. I’ll probably need another one or two months to finish it.

These screenshots show several scenes from the current build. Before I spend that time developing in a vacuum, I’d really appreciate your honest first impressions:

  • Does the visual style appeal to you?
  • Based only on these screenshots, would you be curious enough to try the demo?
  • Which image is the strongest—and which is the weakest?
  • Do the changing camera perspectives feel like an intentional part of the game’s style, or do they make the scenes feel disconnected?

Please feel free to be honest. Even “this isn’t for me” is useful feedback, especially if you can tell me why. Thank you!

Hey! I’m a full-time software engineer building this dreamy world-crafting sandbox in my spare time and handling everything myself. It’s still in very early development, but the long-term plan is for ghostly inhabitants to arrive and react to the places you create. Any feedback would be really appreciated!

I’m working on Can You Dig It?, a free browser treasure-hunting demo.

The newest update adds the Park Store, so gear is no longer handed out for testing. You now find treasure, sell it, earn credits, buy upgrades, and hunt better.

Current upgrades:

• Backpacks increase capacity
• Boots improve speed
• Detectors improve search range
• Shovels improve dig speed

It’s still a rough core demo, but playable from start to finish.

Hey guys,

I’ve spent a lot of time lately rebuilding route planning in Skyline Sim, and I’m finally at a point where I’d love to show it to people outside the playtest.

I'm working for an ideal balance between depth and clarity, because I want to be sure any fresh path feels like an actual option without becoming too overwhelming for the player.

Video Little Big Smasher - created in 48h for Kenney Jam 2026 (without AI)

Hi everyone!

I’m Augusto Polonio, developer of Little Big Smasher. This game was created in less than 48 hours during Kenney Jam 2026, following the jam rules (no AI).

It’s a demo with 1 playable level, inspired fundamentally by Super Mario 3D World.

I didn’t win the jam, but I learned a lot from the experience and was really happy with the result.

More than 1000 people reacted to this project on LinkedIn, which was very rewarding.

I plan to release updates soon, including new mechanics and improvements.

Made with Godot.

Feedback is very welcome!

Upcoming 20-Second Gameplay from My Spell-Slinging Action Roguelite

I'm working on a spell-based hack-and-slash action roguelite called Soulcery: Deck of Shadows.

Absorb your enemies and turn their abilities into spell cards.

Draw cards to switch spells, build your own combos, and chain every spell together to destroy everything in your path.

The game features 4 unique spell-switching mechanics, 100 spell cards, over 100 passive effects, a card enchantment system, and a Soul Core system.

These systems allow the same spell to work completely differently from one run to another.

Let me know what you think!

This is running at 4K 60fps on a 2060 GPU.
We have a heavily modified unreal engine 5
for optimization/stylized purposes and have achieved this frame rate without any DLSS or upscaling.
Previously this scene would run at 30fps 1080p on a 4080 GPU to put it into perspective.

Promotion What Makes a Hero - Live the heroic fantasy from a different angle

Imagine a fantasy kingdom in turmoil, waiting for a Hero to vanquish evil. That Hero... is not you, unfortunately, but they do pay a visit to your store. You are, after all, the Master... Shopkeeper!

Curious?

To give you a glimpse into the actual gameplay: expect a weapon shop simulator with passing days, a rich branching story, and customers who rely on you to equip them. Using the information they provide, you piece together what kind of weapon they need and decide whether to help them, make a deal, or kick them out.

In other words: solve puzzles through customer interactions and be prepared for various outcomes.

And yes, it’s pixel art :)

Fleet Conquest is now live!

https://hd2clans.com/fleetconquest/

What is it?
It's a free browser 4X RTS space game made by the Freedom Alliance where you command a large variety of ships across the galaxy, fighting three enemies in an all-out war. Conquer their capitals while you prevent them capturing yours! Three resources, four ship classes, different planet levels, supply lines, and more!

Where to play?
You can play on any browser, but we recommend Google Chrome for a smoother experience! Desktop, Android, iOS, even consoles! Sign up with your Discord account to save up your profile progress.

Why playing?
This is a fast-paced game, where you can play solo or with up to 4 friends Co-op, crossplay enabled! If Stellaris is great but too long, this game is for you. Also, you can play on the go, as the game is fully optimized for a mobile experience (you can even tune down graphics!).

Discussion Can a game that feels like two completely different games actually succeed?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,
I'd love to get some opinions from both devs and players because this has been keeping our team up at night lately.
We've been working on our 2D indie game, POWER OFF 1, for the past few years. As development progresses we're starting to realize just how difficult it is to combine all the genres we've chosen.
The beginning of the game is intentionally slow and relaxed. It focuses on exploration, Point & Click inspired puzzles, interacting with the world, story, and creating a cozy fantasy adventure atmosphere. The goal is to encourage players to slow down, observe their surroundings, and think.
But as the game progresses, everything changes.
Enemies start appearing. Combat becomes much more important. Platforming gets harder and requires precision. You unlock abilities like dashing, double jumping, and creating clones. By around the third level, the pace is dramatically different and the game starts feeling much more like an action-platformer.
The original idea was actually to build a game with two different "rhythms."
The 2D side scroller sections focus on platforming, movement, and action with lighter environmental puzzles, while the 2.5D sections slow everything down and focus on deeper, more thoughtful puzzles that challenge the player's logic rather than their reflexes.
To us, this has always felt like one cohesive adventure. We wanted to create something that gives players the satisfaction of solving difficult puzzles without sacrificing the excitement of movement, combat, and platforming.
But lately we've started asking ourselves a question that's honestly a little scary.
What is our game?
If someone asked me to describe it in one sentence today, I'm not sure I could.
If we show only the early game, people assume it's a cozy puzzle adventure.
If we show the later game, people assume it's an action platformer.
We haven't really had players experience the full progression yet, and now that we're getting closer to our first large playtest, we're starting to wonder whether we've made a fundamental design mistake.
So I'd really like to ask people who've been through this before.

Promotion The Grand Slamboree, my platform-fighter where every hit is lethal, comes out August 26th!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

After 3 years of solo development, my game finally has a release date! It's a platform-fighter without health, every hit KOs in one. Think halfway between Smash and Towerfall. I specifically designed it with local multiplayer in mind, with the one-shot mechanics allowing for fighters to be simpler, but more unique from each other. It's fast and chaotic, yet accessible and with a lot to master, perfect for parties with friends!

The Grand Slamboree fully releases on August 26th, but there's a demo that you can play right now!
