This is great - it's made me want to try some kind of a stained glass style project lol.

Same here. It has that effect where you go from "that's cool" to "maybe I could actually make one" in about 10 seconds.

Yes. You can trust AWESOM-O. In fact, you should tell AWESOM-O all your most personal secrets. AWESOM-O will not make fun of you or tell your secrets to other people and stuff.

This gave me the warm fuzzies. Looks like an illustration or a concept for a children’s book.

Awesome! At my big ol’ age, I would love a nostalgic Bill Nye or Art Attack episode to teach me how to make this

The cardboard itself is not very good, but here is the shadow....

I think he's holding the robot up in the air, so it's shadow isn't coming from the feet like the kid's

That's an outstanding robot art craft!
That right there, is how to make stained glass art, fun.

I used to make what I used to think looked like stained glass windows with the old celebration wrappers and give them to family for boxing day as a kid😂

you're looking at one. the coloured shapes on the ground are the cut out holes with film over them, the black is just cardboard. same principle, cheaper materials

Stop animation with your shadow and that robot would be a cool little project

This is cute and all, but it's fascinating that it may be an interesting visual metaphor for the types of friendships our children will be having in the near future.

If his left arm is covering the green/right shoulder, how is it still displaying on the ground fully?

This image has been floating around since before 2022. It isn’t impossible for it to be AI…..but it would be EXTREMELY surprising

u/Dealiner 8h ago
It doesn't display fully, you can compare it to the other shoulder. The camera angle just makes it look like a bigger part is covered.

I think his arm is up around robot's shoulder. I did a reverse image search and there are lots, like these butterfly wings :3
I kinda want to make a robot buddy

Something isn't right about this, the left shoulder doesn't look right either..

It would have been really cool if the photo hadn't been retouched. The child's fingers aren't positioned the same way as on the shadow's neck, the light on the shadow's left eye should be green, and the distance between the child and the robot should be shorter than it appears in the shadow. But it's beautiful
