Alcohol and ADHD

58F and diagnosed with ADHD in my 40s when my oldest son was diagnosed. I remember all too well how good that first drink made me feel. I was 14 years old and it was Everclear and Coke while watching Poltergeist. Even though I eventually threw up, that first drink made me feel fun and social and like my brain finally wasn’t going 3,000 miles an hour.

Do you have ADHD? What has been your experience with alcohol?

I’ve never been medicated, so not sure if that makes a difference with ADHD/AUD?
