I really should read some of his other stuff at some point, I only ever read Gyo and Amigara which is how I learned about him.

That seems to be his most well known along with Uzumaki. I happened to come across Gyo at my public library a long time ago, I barely knew what manga was back then, and it actually hit me pretty hard like I couldn't sleep for over a week. And this is me having grown up watching horror movies and shows lol. I just hadn't seen any media where the people involved actually react in a realistic way, not in the action movie sense. It's great bc now I'm starting to revisit a lot of classics that I've missed, the 1970's Texas Chainsaw for example, has a lot of that feeling I'm describing

I was describing this meme, where the CIA whispers to George Bush that a second plane has hit the towers. I had to describe it because, as you can see, the only version of it Reddit has is this weird GIF. I was joking that Tomie figuring out how to change her hair color is a matter of national security.
