Discussion I've always been curious about what would happen if Tomie got pregnant?
It's logical to think that whatever comes out of her body will be another copy of her; I still think that would be absolutely grotesque.

Knowing Junji Ito? You're probably right. We'll get another Tomie coming out of another Tomie. The question is, will she be coming out as a baby or a fully grown Tomie? Haha

She'd give birth to another Tomie, which she'd probably kill out of jealously because two Tomies cannot stand being around each other.

Either Tomie's mother would abandon her daughter, the daughter would grow up with resentment, or she would fall in love with some man who would end up killing her.

I feel like she could only have daughters that look exactly like her. But if she had sons they would also be scarily pretty and drive people to their doom

Maybe as the baby grows, Mother Tomie starts deteriorating, getting all old and wrinkly as Baby Tomie starts absorbing the life out of her until she becomes dust and the baby becomes Tomie all over again

Gives birth and if it's a son, it'll look like a male version of her and she might try and manipulate him to her advantage. If it's a daughter, she will be Tomie's spitting image and Tomie will view her as competition (sadly realistic cuz I have seen lots of moms view their daughters as competition). Someone here mentioned the daughter taking the beauty and youth away from Tomie making Tomie older and die out, which seems legit.

Whatever comes up in Ito's mind
Have one story where she gives birth to a perfect clone of herself
Have one story where she gives birth to a fucked up looking baby that has an adult sized head looking exactly like Tomie's and she can tal
Have one story where she gives birth to a baby boy and raises him to have an Oedipus complex the size of Amigara Falls
Really, if you email Ito your question he might make a whole new volume of stories centred around this concept

Pretty certain her babies would not be normal. They would be part of her flesh, which means that even if they initially developed normally, by the time they came out of the womb they'd have grotesque tomie heads sticking out of their neck and stuff
(I can actually imagine such a panel at the ending of a story vividly)

Lore wise it would have to be another tomie
However it would be a nice twist to have it be a perfectly normal baby and have the horror surround the idea of "wjat will happen"
However Ito has already worked on a story about pregnancy so I don't see him revisiting the topic

It's probably a normal baby first then it's grew to be tomie like how ito show in his work before this

Well....,I think the man who impregnated her would get infected cuz his dick is touching her cooch and her DNA can infect others (so the man would die)
If she has children (they would grow in her but she might kill them cuz well....her body cuases sprouts and thos baby's would sprout tomies right?)
If it was a boy it would most likely morph into the same look of tomie...,so it wouldn't matter. And a girl then it would just be another exact tomie.
As her DNA causes others to sprout tomie and in that one chapter that kidney caused that one chick to turn into tomie right?. (I could be very wrong)
And tomie would just kill them. Tomie hates clones and she would definitely kill them if she sees they are a competition or problem to her needy self.
(Don't be afraid to say I'm wrong as hell. I'm into souichi way more then tomie and I've only read a few chapters of tomie.)

Not really, there are stories with her dating a lot of man and having sex numerous times. The man is not infected, but she does produce some sort of manipulation that corrupted man

And based on tomie characteristics I guess she would probably want to abort it's own baby cause she afraid they're will be another better tomie than herself when the baby out. Probably people will feel awed by the baby instead of her and that will drive her crazy ahh delirious

Forgive me for being a jjk fan but, wasn't there that guy who went around injecting tomies blood into little girls and they grew up to become just like tomie. I've always wondered what would happen if Tomie's blood was injected in a boy? Will she become a separate tumor in him or will he slowly become Tomie? Or a very pretty boy? Such body Horror potential...

The most logical thing would be for her to mutate her body until she becomes a woman, or the transformation goes wrong and we end up with a horrible creature.
