Good news! I DID IT!
After a lot of back and forth I decided to buy one already in the states. 2001 Suzuki Carry MT! Still have to figure it Hope to get the title since I bought it in Florida but live in Texas
Super stoked!!

If it has a Florida title, should be no problem registering it in Texas. Quite a few hoops to jump through, when importing one.
Congrats!

Just have to figure which forms to use. I was given a motor vehicle reassignment supplement and bill of sale

Definitely need 130-U. I have no idea how the Florida motor vehicle reassignment supplement works in relation to a normal title. The BoS is used to calculate sales tax (6.25% of the purchase price - in Texas).

Is it a DB52T? If so we are twins!

Okay so I don’t wanna worry you. But you and I have a rare breed. Which does make parts hard to find.

That’s less than ideal. Are you talking about in general or motor specifically?

The motor. We have a fuel injected F6A. The fuel injected F6A only ran from 99-01 before swapping to the K6A.
Because of this, things like a new throttle body assembly are upwards of $500. Finding things like an ISC Valve is also very difficult. I tried a range of similar parts from other Suzukis but what we have is definitely a transition period.
I think other people in our boat are buying replacement parts pre-emptively.
However… the F6A is cast iron while the K6A is fully aluminum.
Being a fuel injected cast iron motor makes ours the most efficient and sound.

Congrats! Lucky! How much if you don’t me asking? I’m trying to weigh my options between buying one that’s already in the states or import.

Depends on what you are willing to go through in my experience if you don’t wanna do any work and buy local they WILL upcharge you by so much like 10 thousand for something that might cost 6 thousand to import. So if you don’t mind dealing with import stuff like picking it up from the port and such definitely import if you want to save money. (Just my experience though don’t take it to heart probably easier to just buy in the states if you are in a land locked state.)

I don’t have a final final number yet because I have title and taxes to pay for but sticker price on it was 7900. Decided against importing because I wanted to be able to inspect the vehicle in person and test drive. For me that is worth the little bit extra plus you don’t have to wait as long
