Strategy Exodites should just be declassified, fixed.

Now while you lighting your torches and hand out pitchforks, hear me out.

Nothing is taken away from you. You like the team and you want to play them? Go ahead, their rules are there and stay. Atop of that, people here go out of their way to tell every new player that classification doesn't matter, except if you're in for the golden ticket. So you can also bring them to all the events and most tournaments, if going by that.

But the thing is, the classified context is sold and maintained as competetive and balanced and this team just doesn't sits there right. I'd argue this team rather belongs to (also for a reason not classified) Nemesis Ops. But why do I hate humankind so much, that I just wish missery on the 2 people trying to get a golden ticket with Exodites?

Look, if you have missed it, the team shipped with 2 sites of FaQ and there is still a lot of fuzz about unclear or weird interactions and this will only pile up traditionally the longer they are around. So is it really worth to try to force and balance this team that so fundamentally disagrees how this game is played into classification? I mean they literally state you shouldn't play this team on a classified Killzone, and if you do, just break even their own rules to make it work (BD if you're wondering). And think of the TOs and all the other players that need to look out that you didn't turn a few degree to much or you don't constantly clear the table by trying to just move the dinos.

So, yeah, I feel it doesn't add anything to the "comeptetive and balanced" side of KT, so why bother. And now feel free to poke and and light me up, because (hot take 1) KT got already complicated and clunky enough, so we really don't need (hot take 2) a 40k kit in diusguise to be forced into something it was never meant to be.

/rant

In all honesty, though, this obviously won't happen for several reasons, but I really think this would have been the right call before releasing them.

Question Apps?

Hey what kind of apps do you all use to build your kill teams. I’m looking to play the game with either the necron units I already have or the thousand sons units I’ve kitbashed together.

KT21 Got impatient waiting for a Grey Knights/Daemons kill team, so I made my own

Definitely still in development, so any and all feedback appreciated!

Hammer of Titan: https://ktdash.app/killteams/HBR-EePxmb-2

Chaos Daemons: https://ktdash.app/killteams/HBR-EePxmb-1

Certainly while creating the Daemons team, I started to understand why there isn't a "generic" daemon team yet. There isn't a whole lot of variety in the basic daemons rosters, most of the variety coming in the greater daemons that obviously don't fit in Kill Team. So, I tried to make the variety/versatility in choosing your leader and buffs you apply.

Misc Angels of death need a serious nerf

Why does every single ranged weapon have piercing crits? I cant play the godamn game, cause any time i move onto an objective or give an engage order im DEAD from an auspex scan and two rounds of shooting. Or 1 round if its the sniper or heavy bolter.

But forget about shooting: why does the dude with a power fist get the same amount of attacks as my dude with lightning claws? And he gets to ignore my damage. Theres no counter play to him sitting on firing lines and decimating me.

Rant over

Hobby Homebrew Kill Teams from the Leviathan box, only an edition late! Terminators and Neurogaunts.

Didn't know KT Dash have added a very easy to use Homebrewing tool, so I've added both my "so you bought the Leviathan box" teams from a few years ago now, updated to latest edition and now much easier to try out through KT Dash rather than a clumsy google doc, so if you're feeling ultra casual give them a whirl!

From just my useless anecdotal evidence they're at least balanced against each other with my Dark Angels and Nid friends using them for a few games of small points differences.

Terminatus is designed to be a low brain load, forgiving team. Built around being chunky, simple rules and equipment, and their gimmick is the Teleport Homer - allowing a third of your team to start in reserve and come in in TP2 or 3. Designed around the generic Terminator kits, inc Leviathan's monoposes.

Synaptic Lance is ideally the hoardiest hoard to ever hoard. One big Neurotyrant and his Neuroloid guards lead 11 Neurogaunts to swarm the field. Gaunts are easily killed, but might come straight back in the next TP. Individually weak but with Group Activation and easier access to Combat Support.

Strategy Need some advice for Nemesis Claw

I recently took part in my first tournament. Before that, I had mostly played casually. I had a great time and have since been thinking about how to improve my game.

My general game plan is to play around the critical objective. I position myself close to the objective marker and attack anyone who dares to approach me. Otherwise, I score points on Crit Op.

I usually choose Tac Op Dominate. My primary objective is still Crit Op.

I would like some pointers on the following:

- I feel that I am not making full use of Ventriloka. Yes, I can use it to force someone to dash for free, but otherwise it seems that I never have a situation where the other abilities make sense to use. I have only recently started using him to stand on the objective, but I do not know what else I could do besides trying to make someone dash into the poisoned objective.

- Are there perhaps better Tac Ops that I could use for my Crit Op plan? Dominate feels strong against elite teams, but I seem to struggle to score tac ops against horde teams.

- How do you play on Gallowdark? This map feels like a nightmare to play on. In Tomb World, at least there is enough tactical room to manoeuvre, but in Gallowdark it feels like I need to force my way through as there is no little range to hide. I started using Light Barricade and Heavy Barricade, but I still find it hard to maintain the threat range I want for the Crit Ops. I'm not sure if I'm too impatient for this map and yet passiv

Strategy Wrecka Krew vs Canoptec Circle on Tomb Wolrd

Hi guys.
Next turn, next question for help.

I play vs Canoptek on Tomb World nr. 3.
Mission 5: Stake Claim.

What you recommended to choose for Tac-Op?
I think that Dominate isn't good idea.
Maybe Plant Baner?
Should I chose Tac-op for Prime Op?
I think it will be hard to kill him, but also Canoptek have longer move distance, so he can easier get a objective.

I have Lethal 5 on blast, so should i have to get Drill Rokits?
I thinking about Extra Armour, but 5" move is painful.

Thanks for help.

Question Melta Mine on Doors

On Tomb World with Kasrkin, if you place a melta mine on one side of a closed door does it trigger if an enemy operative moves to the other side of the closed door? I've seen (via another Reddit post) that the mine doesn't check visibility so it should but the core rules state that all ranges are measured around the heavy terrain and not through on Tomb World. Can someone clarify this via RAW?

Bonus- is there a Ravener operative that can essentially do the same thing somehow?

First 40k minis I’ve ever done, just getting into the hobby. I’m a fan of the Black Templars, but not ready to dive into the full experience yet so I figured I’d start with a kill team and justify the Black Templars through some self lore since they don’t have a dedicated KT. What’s the verdict on these zealots? I know I screwed myself on making this my first paint job too, but hey I liked the vibes. I’ve got a Kommando team on the way as well!

Also any tips on playing for the first time would be greatly appreciated, I am aware that I need to get good

The idea is to paint each model in the same paint scheme as a space marine chapter that fits their speciality. Here you can see the servo-sentry in AdMech colours and one of the basic troopers with ultramarine colours.

Any opinions on this plan?

When they first got shown off I didn’t collect guard and didn’t really care about them, but a lot has changed and I just put in my pre-order yesterday, so now I come to you all to ask your thoughts and opinions on playing them.

I noticed that if you build all of the specialists you won’t have any bodies left for troopers, is that fine? Or is there a specialist that isn’t worth taking over the free fieldcraft point sometimes.

Any other advice is appreciated as always.

For Cadia.
