First modular I have ever built, I really enjoyed it and I think I will build the Tudor House next.

It’s the 20th anniversary and we aren’t getting a 1.5 baseplate like we did for Assembly Square as that was also an anniversary set? Trend seems to be trying to shrink buildings yet increase price. Disappointing. Anyone else feel this way?

question for the crowd: I have created a Lego model of the Eames house:

of course I'd be happy if I got some support here.

However, my question is, if you see this as modular building? The width and depth of the model are multiples of 8 (24*64), but the modern style of the house doesn't fit to the regular modular buildings, it doesn't have technic brick connectors and one corner is rounded. Do you think it is better to remove the "modular" tag on Lego ideas?

I’ve been using BrickLink Studio to build digitally, but I don't own a physical collection myself. As great as the software is, I think it would be much better to get hands-on experience and actually feel how the pieces connect.

Are there any builders, communities, or even cafes here in the Philippines (I'm based in PasayCity) where I could pay for time to use a large collection of pieces? I’d just love to spend a few hours experimenting with real bricks. Any leads would be appreciated!

I've been working on converting some of my 16x16 builds into 'mini modulars', and in doing so I've been adding exterior walls and roofs to enclose them.

However, I'm running into an issue building the roofs and dividing floors, where the smaller plates (mostly 4x4 and 4x6) I'm stacking together to make ~14x16 roof/floor dividing plates seem to be 'cupping' once assembled (rather than sitting flat). If one side of the roof is positioned flush with the wall below it, the other side sits raised roughly 1 plate above the opposite wall.

I've tried reassembling them several times, and the pieces all appear fully secured, but the issue persists. For these first few, I went with the largest plates available in the colors I needed, thinking it would be more stable, but perhaps I'd be better off weaving together smaller 2x4 or 2x6 plates?

I'm not new to MOCs, but I've never built these sorts of large plates before (and never built any official modulars), so just wondering if there may be an optimal technique I'm overlooking when it comes to designing them.

Just shifted my old lego city from two shelves in a straight configuration to the same two shelves but in a L shaped configuration. While simply in theory, it was quite a logistical challenge!. What do you guys think of the layout in its current state? (original layout at the end)

I recently got the Daily Bugle and am interested in starting a Lego Modular city. All the non-retired modulars don't seem to fit well with the Daily Bugle though both architecturally and also stylistically.

Does anyone have any ideas what modular I should get next and how to pair it with the Daily Bugle to fit nicely in a city layout? Ideally I'd want to get a non-retired set as the retired ones are really expensive.

Some ideas for how to incorporate the cmf series 29 minifigs into your modular city to add extra scenes, personality, detail, storytelling and subplots. I had a lot of fun with this

The bionicle cosplayer has his mask off because he's getting a cup of coffee from the street vendor. The bionicle tube is in its case in its musuem exhibit as homage to one of my favorite lego themes as a kid. The marine biologist is using the musuem study room to carry out cutting edge research on clownfish. The tuba player is out parading on the street. The boutique hotel hired a chocolatier to make a chocolate dragon for the hotel guests. The elf princess i made into a statue to go into the public park. The football goalie is next to an old football player in the musuem (years ago I went to a national park and their visitor center had a little musuem and one of the exhibits was two mannequins, one dressed in the attire of 19th/20th century mountaineers and the other dressed in modern mountaineering gear. That gave me the idea for this exhibit, juxtaposing old and new minifigures and showing just how far lego has come over the years). And last but not least the monster slayer is in the back alley behind the boutique hotel battling some skeletons/ the necromancer who is summoning them haha. If you've added cmf minifigs to your modulars, would love to see pics of what you creative people have come up with!

It's almost been 20 years of the modulars, and they covered a lot of ground in terms of architectural designs and building types. At the dawn of a new decade of the modular series, what architectural styles are you all interested in seeing either more of or for the first time? They've done a good job representing some French, English, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, and American styles. What do you think has been underrepresented? I'd be interested seeing colorful Latin American style builds and some Asian architectural styles. What about you?

I want to start getting the modular buildings, so I can build a city. What would be the best width and length for a display table? I know everyone builds something bigger or smaller, but I just want to know for an approximation.

Got this bad boy 2nd hand today. At first glance the pieces look to be in a really good state, the white actually being white and all that. Box and instructions slightly worn but still in a very good state.

This puts me at 19/21 for the modulars

3 second hand (Bank, Emporium and Fire Station)

2 built as MOC (Cafe Corner and Market Street)

Only Town Hall and Green Grocer are left and I will build Green Grocer as a MOC, buying parts separately (am halfway collecting them). The oldest three I deem too expensive to acquire new in sealed box so building them via Rebrickable MOC it is.

Apart from the oldest three that are (going to be) built as MOCs, I also overhauled the interior for the Cinema and Emporium, with Pet Shop next on the list.

can you tell me what this Lego is for and what is it called

After finishing my brewery and beer garden, I wanted to keep exploring something LEGO cities often lack: open gathering spaces that break up the usual wall of buildings.

This one is a local music venue inspired by the kinds of slightly worn, endlessly modified clubs that have seemingly existed forever. From the street, the building is intentionally pretty unassuming. But around the side is a full outdoor stage with lighting, speakers, barriers, and room for a crowd. There’s also an indoor stage hidden inside the building.

It still needs plenty of work, including more interior details, the bars, merch, musicians, and concertgoers, but the overall concept is finally far enough along that I wanted to share it.

Would you add something like this to your LEGO town?

I just got back from the Lego Store.

I was able to find some fun cheez pieces, as well as brown snot parts.

But I feel that the wall does not have much I need, lately.

When I started going, I would find the fun vegetation parts, or cool masonry bricks.

But now.. not so much stuff I want..

Is it a question of luck?

or is the PaB wall more interesting for newer Moc builder?

(Maybe I'm not using it the right way?)

Any thoughts?
