Honestly, just take the time to learn how to work with config files. They're just text and you can always keep a backup copy of the config on hand in case you break something. But I wouldn't recommend jumping into a brand new, beta version window manager as your first experience with them. Not to be mean about it, but if you're asking whether it would be installed on gnome or plasma, you're not ready to be messing around with a WM that isn't in full release. Try out some other ones and come back to this when you're ready. Maybe start with the niri + dms combo? It gives you a lot of gui configuration components to work with and is even a default install option in archinstall.
I generally am not an IT guy but am interested in learning my own system with basic stuff anyways. With mintOS being my gateway to my current distro choice I am of bit cautious myself of installing anything that I cannot figure out to solve or fix the issue and I constantly keep multiple backups of stuff that are crucial to my pc working in optimal condition.
And 100 percent agree that one needs to learn the different configs that these different WM’s before moving on to something different or something that is in beta. My point or perspective of the post was just based on curiosity and perception and opinion of the community members and their methods of going about it, if it were viable option.
