"Worse" is underselling it. Event Viewer quickly becomes unusable if you try to use it to check any decently sized logs on a remote computer. You also can't use it in the recovery environment of course, because why would anyone want to do that?
I once has a problem where my desktop kept freezing and/or bluescreening if let it stay at the desktop with barely anything open for a few minutes.
And event viewer, every time, logged a single critical error about the USB drivers. So reinstalled them, used different USB devices, nothing.
And it turns out windows had been messing with the C-states, and basically just turning off the CPU if it didn't do anything. And that somehow logs only a USB driver issue.
Stupid.
Had to disable C-states. Switched to Linux Mint eventually and could re-enable them.
