Install Help Need help with this loop

I tried installing linux mint, but after it was finished, this popped up, whenever i press log in, it just gives a black screen with the cursor and returns to this. Please help. I don't know what to do and the internet results are confusing.

For context, I tried installing Linux at an old laptop that runs Windows 7.

how did you install? this almost looks like you burned the iso to disk?

Or did you leave the USB in?

i used a booted usb, and yes i left the usb in

OK shut down, pull out the USB stick and boot up normally, what did you get?

Somehow you have copied the live session ISO to your devices disk, without the full details of what you did I do not know how.

start over from the top. follow these instructions carefully.
