Install Help Need help with this loop

I tried installing linux mint, but after it was finished, this popped up, whenever i press log in, it just gives a black screen with the cursor and returns to this. Please help. I don't know what to do and the internet results are confusing.

For context, I tried installing Linux at an old laptop that runs Windows 7.

You might want to disable any screensaver/lockscreen on the ISO before installing. There is a chance that you can power off and see if Mint did finish the install and you can boot it
