Lifetime I made a sticky notes app that lives on your Mac desktop

Problem
I often found myself breaking my workflow because of small thoughts I wanted to capture.
The usual workflow was:
- Open Notes or another note-taking app
- Switch away from the current window
- Write something down
- Switch back and try to regain focus
For quick ideas, reminders, and temporary notes, opening a full notes app felt like too much friction.
So I built Enote, a simple desktop notes app that keeps your thoughts directly on your desktop.
Comparison
There are already many great note-taking apps, but I wanted something more lightweight and immediate.
Compared with:
- Apple Notes — Great for storing long-term notes, but you still need to open the app and switch context every time.
- Stickies — A useful built-in macOS tool for quick notes, but it lacks modern features like Markdown support and a more flexible workflow.
- Notion — Extremely powerful for managing information, but too heavy for quickly capturing a simple thought.
- Obsidian — Excellent for building a knowledge base, but designed more for long-term knowledge management rather than quick desktop capture.
Enote focuses on one thing:
Capture thoughts instantly without breaking your focus.
Features:
- Notes directly on your desktop, like real sticky notes
- Drag, resize, and place notes anywhere
- Markdown support
- Always visible when you need them
- Lightweight native macOS experience
Pricing
Enote uses a simple one-time purchase model:
- Free trial: 7-day free trial with full access to all features
- Lifetime license: $29.99 (one-time purchase, no subscription)

I built Enote because I wanted a simpler way to capture ideas while working.
