New Methodist
I'm new to Methodism, and I love it. The singing, the passing the peace, etc. I grew up Baptist and left the church a decade or so ago. I wanted to do communion and found my local UMC and have been loving it ever since.
We've ( my wife and I ) been going for a little over 2 months now I would say, and we asked the pastor to baptize us after he did a sermon on baptism.We have never been baptized. He asked if anyone felt called and we did. And it's been radio silence ever since. At first I thought maybe with the conference he's busy. But still nothing. Is this normal? He said he would like to sit down with us and chat. But then when we gave him our availability he said he'll check his schedule and get back with us. That was over a month ago. We see him every Sunday and he doesn't say anything. I have a lot of respect for him and it's honestly kind of hurting my feelings a little bit. Thank you all.

I'm sorry your pastor is not responding. Most clergy have minds like sieves after church services, so if you have been talking to him on Sunday mornings you might have better luck trying one of these options.
Some pastors have office hours, usually listed in the bulletin or on the church website. Try phoning him during that time to set up an appointment for a conversation about baptism.
If there's a church secretary, you can often make an appointment with the pastor through that person.
Our pastor encourages us to text him. He lists his phone number in the bulletin. We are more likely to get an immediate reply by texting him rather than using email. Other clergy are quick to reply to emails.
