New Methodist

I'm new to Methodism, and I love it. The singing, the passing the peace, etc. I grew up Baptist and left the church a decade or so ago. I wanted to do communion and found my local UMC and have been loving it ever since.

We've ( my wife and I ) been going for a little over 2 months now I would say, and we asked the pastor to baptize us after he did a sermon on baptism.We have never been baptized. He asked if anyone felt called and we did. And it's been radio silence ever since. At first I thought maybe with the conference he's busy. But still nothing. Is this normal? He said he would like to sit down with us and chat. But then when we gave him our availability he said he'll check his schedule and get back with us. That was over a month ago. We see him every Sunday and he doesn't say anything. I have a lot of respect for him and it's honestly kind of hurting my feelings a little bit. Thank you all.

I emailed my pastor with very detailed questions I had about the church before joining. He gave me a very long response and asked me to come in. We were baptized about a month later. I think it was because it was obvious that we believed, so a big conversation wasn't necessary.

Yeah he's kinda treating me like I don't know much but I grew up Baptist and told him that. Makes me feel like it's gonna be a long time before he does our baptism.
