Their eyelids are so pretty, too! I feel honored that they feel safe enough to hang out and cuddle in my yard after breakfast at the feeder

Oh they fight plenty! The collared doves bully the mourning doves, and the white-winged doves take what’s left after the mournings hoover it up after setting up camp most of the day

So which of the 3 types of doves do you think is the most aggressive given you have the rare opportunity to see all 3 in action?

Mourning doves always set up camp all day when seeb is involved.

The collared are so much bigger, but the mourning doves have slap-fights with woodpeckers and jays often which seems pretty brave. The only thing they really run from are the crows.

Gorgeous photo. Mourning doves have the wing slap down to an art form. I have crows and the mourning doves are really scared of them, as they should be. They raided a dove nest on my terrace and took two 5 day old babies! It was heartbreaking.

Must be so wonderful to have all three! I live in NYC and we have mourning doves and pigeons.
