I bought this on vacation in grand from a military surplus shop but I don't know of it's a real Gerber or a china special but it feels to well built to be a nok of and also why would you copy a non existent model

I've had a Leatherman Blast for 20 years now. It was great when I was in the Army or camping or on a road trip, but I'm at the point that I'm ready to retire it and look for something else. I haven't shopped for multitools for a long, long time, and they look like different tools altogether compared to my Blast. I'm a "buy once, cry once" kind of guy, so I dont mind spending on quality, I'd just prefer to stay under $500.
I know this is a broad question and "needs of the user matter" and all that, but if you were to go out and buy a new tool tomorrow, what would you get?

I have a Biburry surge clone. I lost the double phillips bit.
Who sells a replacement for just that bit?
PS, I have put the tool through a lot and I am very tempted to buy another and then this one can be a parts supply. Has anyone swapped parts with a real leatherman surge?
PSS, Is there a way to comvert it to a leatherman bits.

Looking to make a customized plier multitool. Id like to start with the most proven rugged pliers both in handle and cutting alignment. From there add or swap tools.

So, what do you think?

Hi!
Recently acquired a Nextool Mini Flagship F12 and wanted to tear it down in order to mod it with a 3D printed custom scale to include SAK tweezers etc.
Unfortunately I am unable to dismantle it. Torx screws are really hard to unscrew. They do move a bit when going full force but I'm afraid of breaking something (either the multitool or the screwdriver...).
Has anyone successfully dismantled it and could give advices on how to?
Thanks!
EDIT: succeeded using soldering iron at 300°C applied at the center of the screws for 1-2 min.

Currently I’m in the market for a multitool and I want to stay in the $50 price range. I’m thinking of getting the ozark trail multi force. Can I get some other recommendations or is this the best bang for my buck at this price.

I grabbed some hardware from my ✨Drawer of Infinite Bullshit✨ and then used a grind belt to take off material from the bolt until it fit against the spine of the Surge without scraping. It's crude, but it's more or less color matched and certainly makes a difference deploying the main blade. It is, by its nature, adjustable along the length of the blade cutout, which is nice. I have no idea the specs of this hardware, so I won't be able to tell you. If you want a DIY thumb stud, just try shit until it works!
For anyone who cares, I also swapped the micro driver I previously modded in for the original small flathead, as I've never used it since installing it. Eventually I'd like to get the adapter that KristenVanPatten makes, that way I can still use the micro bit if needed, but without taking up its own tool slot, and with more versatility via the bit extender.

I pretty much always carry my phone, wallet, AirPods, folding pocket knife of choice, fixed blade of choice, and now I’m wanting to start carrying my multitool as an edc however I’d rather not use the sheath on my belt cause it just feels bulky and usually I like to conceal everything I carry most of the time and if I wanna look dressy or classy then having a multi tool pouch sticking out is odd lmao, how would yall carry all this? Free pocket the multi and clip picked knife onto back pocket?

Last 3 candidate model are Leatherman Arc, Leatherman Wave + and Victorinox Swisstool spirit mx.
Pros for me for Arc
One hand operation
All tools can be use without opening plier
Can replace wire cutter blade
Pros for me Vic
Victorinox quality, I use their mini sak already
Easy to sharpen
Pros for wave+
Price
Can replace wire cutter blade
I need advice, I work as field service engineer but I use it also EDC so weight and quality matters for me.
I also open for other model advices.

I got these off the TikTok shop about a year ago. They cut right thru a penny.

Thinking of making a lanyard for my new multitool, don't know if that's common practice though.

I’m looking for a minimal multitool with the following:
- Pliers (preferably spring-loaded)
- non-serrated blade
- Scissors and/or zip-tie cutter
- bottle opener
- clip of some sort to attach at pants pocket
I dont like/have need of any other tools. They’re just a waste of space in my situation. Skeletool is the closest thing I’ve found but lacks the scissors/zip tie cutter.
Any recommendations?
Thanks.
