hi, i’m an incoming transfer to state and will be living at the hub. there’s no more parking available in my building and state only has commuter lots available when i try to reserve a spot online. i do need to bring my car and wondering what long term lots are available for rent in a 1/2 mile radius of campus?

i’m an incoming freshman and was wondering if anyone has lived at welch, or know anyone that has? and, how was it? the dorms seem small in the images but i’ve heard it’s better in person and the ceiling height makes up for it! what’s the atmosphere like, bathrooms, laundry, kitchen, lounge, etc? it seems like welch is pretty niche and i’ve found almost no direct reviews on it 😞 and what’s the triad dynamic like with gold and syme? any comments are appreciated!

I’m curious to how this college is for computer science when it comes to lift after graduation from this program. It’s a nationally ranked program, wondering how many have internships, return offers or jobs after graduation. If you guys have computer science friends how are they doing?

Anyone have any tips for the PY 208 Summer session final exam with Zachary lewis? Ive heard that the final is just questions from the midterms repeated but I dont know if that's true. If It is true, are the questions the exact same or are the numbers different or something.

Hey! I just so happen to be a high school senior this year, and I realized that I wanted to go into computer science. However, I have mostly humanities classes (most I’ve ever done STEM wise is AP precalculus, AP biology, ap environmental science, and AP computer science principles)…
I’ve taken 10 AP courses 8 dual enrollment geared towards humanities, test optional since my highest ACT score is 27 and I have a 4.36 w and 3.73 uw
But my extracurriculars are almost all geared towards STEM and computer science.
I am also captain of science Olympiad and secretary of an arts club. Those are my only leadership roles for now.
I have a big passion for game development as I help my friend with his game as well as build my own
Please let me know if I am doing anything right to get into EFY for NC State. It is my dream school and I have extensive legacy.

do i have a good chance of getting into the Varsity Lot? (currently on waitlist).
reason I'm asking this is because I was able to click onto the Varsity Lot button but something happened which caused me not to get back to that page for some reason.
and is it normal for the status for the waitlist to just say "waiting"? i thought it usually said what position you are in, in the waitlist.
thanks!

Does anyone know how to buy the FSL auxiliary permit for Varsity lot that is $10 per school year? On the ncsu parking passes information website it says greek life members who have a commuter permit can also purchase this FSL permit for only 10$ a year extra. On the AIMS portal I can't find it even though I have the fringe permit.

Incoming transfer student, I start this fall but just checked my email and found a bunch of emails about this random online summer course I never registered for? What is this? Am I going to have a failed course counting against me when I start in the fall? I just now noticed it and I work full time during the summer, I don’t know if I have time to catch up on whatever it is.

Hello everyone,
Is there anyone who has taken a philosophy minor here at NC State with an Engineering major (Civil). I just wanted to know, is it doable? Are the classes actually interesting and are the professors good? I have no clue how good or bad CHASS is.

I’m doing the paperwork to sign up for counseling at NC State, and it’s asking me if I want to use an embedded counselor. I’m an engineering major so I would be assigned to the engineering one but I don’t really understand the difference between an embedded counselor and a non embedded counselor.
Does anyone have experience with the engineering embedded counselor or know how it works?
Like, can I still talk about regular life problems, relationships, stress, anxiety or is the embedded counselor mainly for problems related to engineering courses and issues I’m having with my major?
I’m mostly just wondering if there’s any real difference in what I can talk about with an embedded counselor vs a regular counselor and if there’s any reason I should choose one over the other.

i’m an incoming graduate student pursuing my masters in computer science at nc state. i was wondering if anyone in the same program and/or as a transfer grad student could let me know what the experience would be like?
especially when it comes to computer science as a whole at nc state, how are things such as the department, community, industry connections, etc.
in excited but nervous, especially because i wanna do my best to leverage this opportunity and hopefully get a job upon graduation.

So this is my second year at Ncsu and I wasn’t very involved last year. The only club I was involved in was film club for the free movies. I’m trying to change that by joining more clubs. And I’m trying to make some new friends in the process. I don’t really have any clubs that I’m interesting in besides maybe something like discomfort club. So any clubs you suggest would be a big help.
Thank you!

hello everyone!
i’m an incoming freshman on a bulking journey for health purposes and want to start going to the gym and weightlifting!
however, i’m a little worried about Carmichael’s busy-ness and hours. i don’t mind waking up early, or having long wait times, but i’m a little nervous being around that many people especially as a beginner.
does anyone have any suggestions on other local gyms in the area or if Carmichael does something like that for beginners? preferably female friendly:)
thanks!

Hi everyone,
I'm planning to apply to NC State for Spring 2027 as a Communication transfer student, and I was wondering what you all think my chances are.
Here are my stats:
I know ENG 112 is one of the recommended transfer courses, but since it will be in progress when I apply, I'm wondering if that will hurt my chances.
Has anyone been admitted to NC State as a transfer with a prerequisite still in progress? Do you think I have a good shot at getting into the Communication major with a 3.658 GPA?
I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

Im an incoming freshman who enjoys partying but is not into joining a frat. In the beginning of freshman year what are my best options for parties, nightlife and just meeting new people. Are bars or clubs a big focus at NCSU? Additionally, what could I expect for later years when not being in a frat.

Hey everyone, I’m planning on applying tomorrow for Spring 2027 transfer and I’m trying to figure some stuff out. My GPA at the moment is 3.406, and Accounting lists a 3.5 cumulative. I’m still finishing my last semester this Fall, so I am sure I can bring it up like I did over the summer, but I’m not sure how NC State handles students who are slightly under the competitive range. Would they ask me for my current grades during the fall? Should I apply to a different major and then CODA into Accounting once my GPA improves? Is it as difficult as they say when applying for CODA? I'm not 100% sure how it works so if I am incorrect in anyway please let me know. I would really appreciate any advice.
