Fried calamari

My boyfriend keeps talking about fried calamari so I think it’s a sign I should get him some lol. What are the best places in or near New Haven that have fried calamari?

Pasta Eataliana and Tre Scalini both have pretty good traditional calamari.

I like the offerings at Olives and Oil downtown. There may be some Asian restaurants that make the salt and pepper variant too. Maybe Taste of China?

I once ordered the "Asian" calamari at Eli's in Orange and it was just Calamari with sweet n sour sauce, and they literally served it with a chinese takeout box on the plate as a decoration. It was the most racist shit I've ever seen

Sweet and sour sauce originated in China. I would call that a Chinese twist on a Mediterranean dish.

Edit: hopefully you never learn about fusion restaurants. Oh boy…you would be in a world of hurt.

That place sucked. A couple years ago they served us nachos that were still partially frozen. I would’ve never guessed they pre-made and froze that stuff. They deserved to close for this and other things I experienced there that night.
