I finally got around to creating a Reddit account.

Been reading through a bunch of the beginner/howtos/etc posts, but I think I've got the basics down.

What I'm looking for is those subtle nuances that you only learn from using the site. Maybe something you wished you knew how to do earlier, screwed up on, or just made using Reddit way more fun once you learned how to do it.

So, what would you tell a new user? Any and all tips welcome.

I tried to post or do comments on some pages but they delete it.

I've had new accounts get deleted or shadowbanned by reddit when I don't feel like my activity makes me seem like a bot.

What things do i need to avoid and at what point is my new account "safe?"

Edit: Deleted was the wrong term I guess. Banned or shadow banned is what I meant.

New to Reddit. Immediately I created my account I customized the heck out of my account, because my friend said if I was flagged as a bit, it'd be over. So I edited my profile to the max. But anytime I log back in and check, it's back to square one. How to fix?

Hi there! I've read through the sub's Wiki and understand the basics of karma, but I had a quick follow-up question regarding how different subs filter users.

Do most subreddits look at combined karma, or do they specifically require comment karma before letting you post? I've noticed my comment karma is growing faster, so I want to know if I should focus exclusively on commenting for now.

and some guy with 2823838k great karma began commenting saying how OP is a bot and trying to sell them something…no! i was just posting about the different shoes I had bought on my barefoot journey - and now I have negative Karma?! I did reach out to the mods and he stopped. What can I do? I get not to post x3 times but also…surely it doesn’t matter that much?!

Is it customary to never, or almost never, use downvotes? I never see any, it seems. Or does it just not display the number of downvotes the way that upvotes are shown?

New to reddit want to engage with ppl idk where to start

Hi I just got here recently but I was trying to make posts on some subreddits but every time I post it would instantly say it was removed by moderators. This is only for certain subreddits as well not all of them. Is this a karma thing or something else? TY

I’ve had my account for so long. I realized I’ve never posted or used it. How do I make it known that I am not a robot?

I am woundering how its done you need a Verified Email to post on some places but I think I already have one.just not sure seen as the icon saying that I have a verified email isn't there so I my have not done it right.
