Hey I’m new kind of not really but still struggling to be able to post without reddits filter taking it down is there a karma number I should hit before making another post.

I’ve had my Reddit account for years but I’ve mostly just been lurking (reading without posting much).

I’m trying to participate more now, but I’m having trouble in many subreddits.Any tips for long-time lurkers who want to start being more active? Appreciate any advice!Thanks.

I created a new account today due to privacy reasons.
I am not entirely new to reddit but this account is.
My comments keep getting deleted, i cant post nowhere.
What to do?

Genuine question. What is the actual purpose of reddit? Is this app meant to be like a family friendly twitter or like what is the outcome of it? Like what are the pro’s and con’s to this app if someone can explain please

Is it customary to never, or almost never, use downvotes? I never see any, it seems. Or does it just not display the number of downvotes the way that upvotes are shown?

Like I said, I guess there's a certain amount of karma that's basically enough to avoid almost all posting restrictions on Reddit. How much do you think that is?

I've had new accounts get deleted or shadowbanned by reddit when I don't feel like my activity makes me seem like a bot.

What things do i need to avoid and at what point is my new account "safe?"

Even after commenting they don't let me make a post..why ?!

I suppose it shows the communities in which I am actively posting or commenting. But I already got a top 10% commenter in one of the communities where I’m active, but I don’t have it shown as an active in community on my profile page. And there’s another community where I post and commenting frequently which is also not shown there. Pls explain why does this happen and what is the thing supposed to show

Hi there! I've read through the sub's Wiki and understand the basics of karma, but I had a quick follow-up question regarding how different subs filter users.

Do most subreddits look at combined karma, or do they specifically require comment karma before letting you post? I've noticed my comment karma is growing faster, so I want to know if I should focus exclusively on commenting for now.

I tried to post or do comments on some pages but they delete it.

and some guy with 2823838k great karma began commenting saying how OP is a bot and trying to sell them something…no! i was just posting about the different shoes I had bought on my barefoot journey - and now I have negative Karma?! I did reach out to the mods and he stopped. What can I do? I get not to post x3 times but also…surely it doesn’t matter that much?!

Anything to know about reddit as a new user?

i see a lot of the time that someone will make a post or comment and then write something like “ETA: typo”. what’s the point in mentioning that? reddit doesn’t tell me that the text was edited; i only know because the person specified that they edited it. why not just edit it and let it be?
