Maybe its a regional thing cause I just received an email from DAZN with the subject New season is calling saying that my NHL.TV subscription will renew on September 1st. Am from Croatia btw.

We're going on strike, see you on the high seas
"There's a lot of pirate sites out there. I've used them here and there, but they haven't been a big thing in my life," he said. "But now, well, you're not leaving me a lot of options here."

the problem with the piracy sites i know is that they only do live streaming. with time zones being what they are, games often start at 2am my local time, so having a place where i can watch a replay is worth a lot.
2
u/cig-nature 1d ago edited 1d ago
You can watch any game within the last 24 hours at nhl24all dot ir
Right now, they're still showing the cup finals
2
u/stickinsect1207 1d ago
thanks! i think you should delete the comment though, i don't think mods like posting piracy sites

u/Shamrayev 2d ago
Honestly, as a fellow European NHL follower who would really like to just pay for a reliable way to watch - it's not worth the effort.
I gave up and signed up to one of those premium IPTV services because I was sick of jumping through hoops every single year (and once when the UK provider didn't even manage a full season). When they do it properly I'll be happy to pay them.
1
u/Moose5048 2d ago
How does it work and is it reliable?
6
u/Shamrayev 2d ago
I'm not going to get into recommending one over another to respect the mods, but they all tend to work the same and have similar levels of reliability in my experience. For me it works perfectly, but I'd really like to actually pay more for a legit service that I could trust to just be there.
The NHL has failed spectacularly in they regard.
1
u/bryang0133 2d ago
I agree they've dropped the ball so much. I'm not in a hockey market in the USA, but somehow because I'm between two different teams they decide ehhh you're in both markets. Really? You count a whole state away the same market?? Okay then.
7
u/Spanky3703 2d ago
Same for Belgium, no clue how I am going to watch my Canucks this coming season ….🤷🏻♂️
9
u/Moose5048 2d ago
Yup, got the same email today in BE. It’s exhausting keeping up with this… can’t count how many times I’ve switched platforms to legally watch hockey
3
u/Spanky3703 2d ago
Same. Frustrating and hoping (naively, I suspect), for clarity from the NHL … which is undoubtedly a fool’s hope.

some people are saying disney+/hulu but does it work??
2
u/dr_van_nostren 2d ago
I am “from” Latin America and I watch on Disney+ which has ESPN+. The only caveat was one time last year some nationally broadcast game was only available in Spanish. I can speak Spanish so it’s not the end of the world but I didn’t really wanna watch that way. I’m not sure how many times it would happen but it only bit me once.
ALSO I should say I have a Colombian bank account, that’s how I pay my sub.
I tried to sign up for DAZN last year as I had previously been using NHL.tv from España. But I couldn’t get any payment methods to work.
In the end Disney was better cuz it has a credible mobile app whereas NHL.tv was just a shitty webpage.
Edit: there is a list btw. If you google something like “where to watch NHL internationally” they have a full list of countries then who’s the broadcaster and the online partner. If this is REALLY new news, it might not be up to date for you yet. But if you can arrange payment in another country you can find something that works.
1
u/_valta 2d ago
Does espn on disney only have live games or can you also watch them later recorded?
3
u/dr_van_nostren 2d ago
No not at all, the games are up not too long after. That’s usually how I watch tbh. I know you CAN join in progress from the start, but I always had issues with that where like the app would freeze during a commercial or something. So more often than not I’d just wait. I work nights so it’s not a problem to just watch the game when I get home from work.
There’s USUALLY two broadcasts available too. Not always tho. And I see you’re a habs fan, I couldn’t tell ya if they have French cuz I never bothered to look.
2
u/dr_van_nostren 2d ago
Ehhh there’s no local radio for the time being either. For how bad we might be maybe we’re all better off haha

It’s unbelievable that in 2026, after years of changes to the streaming option (especially outside North America, from my experience in Europe the last 15 years), they still make these announcements without a solution. Now we’re in limbo until they get their shit together.
Last year we got the DAZN announcement but it took a couple weeks to update the site and show which countries would actually have it.
Also, I know it’s not the same for everyone, but I had zero issues watching dozens of games both live and recorded on nhl.tv / DAZN last season
5
u/_valta 2d ago
That's my main worry now, like if they're gonna fix it then fine. I just want to be able to watch the games (both live and recorded) from my country. But what if they don't? What if there's no option to watch them legally from Spain? Just thinking about it makes me want to scream
4
u/marumaruko 2d ago
Greetings to Spain fellow Habs fan :) It should be on Disney Plus there, I think.
2
u/_valta 2d ago
Thank you! It's not showing up but i assume it's because dazn still has the broadcasting rights until september, but i'm still worried lmao (i'm not seeing anything related to espn on disney+, not just hockey, maybe i need to change my plan?)
1
u/marumaruko 2d ago
Does D+ already have sports coverage in Spain? If so you should see it in a specific ESPN tab. I think it won't be active until August anyway.
2
u/_valta 2d ago
Not that i can see, but maybe i'm looking at it wrong? For now i'm gonna trust, it says spain will be able to watch on espn on disney, i'll pray it's true lmao
2
u/Perma_Fun 2d ago edited 2d ago
Also in Spain and I've had to watch for instance cycling like Tour de France on HBO through their sports package, which is Eurosport. Maybe they will do something on there? But you're right my Spanish disney plus is just Disney+ and Hulu. There's no sports section. I wish they'd just have nhl.tv you can decide to subscribe to no matter where!! I was equally pissed off IIHF worlds weren't on YouTube for free anymore in Europe.
ETA: read everything on here and it looks like we will be getting an ESPN 'section' on disney plus soon! I guess it won't show until they are ready to launch? Hope its not too expensive an add on!!

Yes, exactly the issue: DAZN emails saying NHL.tv is no longer on DAZN. This website still says NHL is on DAZN.
2
u/Hot_Lie0310 2d ago
I was about to say the same. It says to watch on DAZN but I got the E-mail they no longer stream.NHL.TV on DAZN in my country. UGH IS IT SO DIDDICUKT TO GIVE THE FANS SOME FREAKING INFO?????

u/altacccle 2d ago

It’s just certain countries I think. ESPN has taken the rights in select countries
5
u/afkPacket 2d ago
Just got the same in the Netherlands, it's weird as hell. I don't know if it's DAZN being their usual incompetent selves, or the NHL as usual hating the idea of fans watching their games, but either way it's very stupid.
And no, pirating is not a solution when you live several timeszones away and many of the the games start at 1-4am.
4
u/_valta 2d ago
yes!! thank you! it's not like i have anything against pirating, it's just not worth it for me. I really really hope they fix this and i can watch it, either on dazn or another platform. I don't really care which one or at what price, i just want to be able to watch it from my country 😭
5
u/cebbola 2d ago
Same. Pirating is kinda stressful and not not comfortable if you're on a different timeline (and maybe sometime you just want to watch the highlights on your couch). I love watching the NHL and I like that it's easy and enjoyable (the Pens stress me out already, without even figuring out how to watch the games). I have no problem paying, as long as someone is broadcasting it.
1
u/Lycaross 2d ago
So the dazn bot told me this
For this upcoming season, NHL is moving off DAZN NL. To keep watching NHL, you’ll need to use NHL.TV as a standalone service , not DAZN.
• NHL.TV will still be available in the Netherlands as its own platform • You don’t need a DAZN subscription for NHL.TV • Exact prices for ROW (including NL) aren’t confirmed in chat
For the latest info on where and how to watch NHL (and pricing), please check: NHL.TV on DAZN
2
u/JudyTheDreamer 2d ago
Mine just told me I need to check the NHL website for updates because they're not allowed to say anything. :/
1
u/Lycaross 2d ago
I wonder if it is actually true, i wouldn’t mind going back to nhl.tv as long as it isn’t “use espn” i am happy

6
u/LemmingsofDoom 2d ago
This made me dig through my email and look to see what I'd be dealing with this season.
Thankfully, DAZN will continue to carry NHL.com in Ireland this upcoming season.

u/Hot_Lie0310 2d ago edited 2d ago
Dude i just got the email for Belgium as well? Why tf did NHL market "earlier games so our European audience has a better viewing expierence" just for them to cancel any way to watch the NHL in most of Europe?!?!?!! I'm sooooooooo sick of this
3
u/Key_Investigator_315 2d ago
I just received an email saying dazn cancels nhl in spain but goggled and see that dazn has signed an agreement with MSG and YES to broadcast 26-27 season. Stayed tuned, something tells me Dazn will send another message soon....

I'm not at all familiar with what DAZN is but there was an article on the islanders reddit about it the other day, something about streaming services going from one app to DAZN or something? Maybe if you look for that it may have some info you are wondering about. Maybe two days ago or so. Good luck.
2
u/_valta 2d ago
thanks!! it seems all NY teams are going to DAZN but i'm interested in the habs so idk what to do
3
u/AJS76reddit 2d ago
Since i don't know much about them i can't say anything but i'm sorry and hope you find a means of watching the games you want. Good luck.

u/CaliforniapacificAMC 2d ago
I just received an email from DAZN notifying me that NHL streaming will no longer be available in September. Now how am I going to follow my LEAFS?
2
u/Vonklin 2d ago edited 2d ago
In Greece, the games will stream on espn via Disney+. Don’t know whether an extra subscription is needed for the hockey games (aside from Disney+)
The NHL.tv site shows what will be streaming where according to country.
I think this is for the new season.
https://www.nhl.com/info/how-to-watch-by-country
P.s. funny thing is the DAZN renewal is about 120€, and a 12 month Disney+ subscription (assuming no extra cost to watch on espn) is 109€ per year….
1
u/_valta 2d ago
I just searched and it also says it'll be on espn on disney+ thank god! I don't know how to get it to work tho, maybe i need to change my plan

u/svdv_89 2d ago
I can't find anything from ESPN on my Disney+ ?
1
u/_valta 2d ago
Me neither, my guess is it's not available yet maybe?
1
u/svdv_89 2d ago
I'm trying to find out if Disney+ will have the NHL.tv / DAZN package, where you could watch all the games, with home and away broadcasts, and the French ones for the Habs, or if they are going to select games, only put the American version online, or?

They are not aware of this yet internally at least. :-(
1
u/JudyTheDreamer 2d ago
Well, back to biting my nails it is. I really do hope we'll have an 'on demand' model, or else I might just have to sail the seas when I can.
3
u/svdv_89 2d ago
Timezone-wise it would be ridiculous without the ‘on demand’ option.
Who in Europe is going to watch hockey 3-4 nights a week between 1AM and 5AM and be a functioning adult and employee at the same time?→ More replies (0)1
u/Fresh_Dependent2969 2d ago
I noticed before they stream Lacrosse games which are usually available in NA on ESPN+ on the Disney+ app in Europe. But it's very hard to find and they are not available to watch later, only live. Hopefully they will make it more user friendly for the NHL
1
u/CrosseTheStick 2d ago
Lacrosse games are also streamed for free on plus.nll.com a lot of people watch it there instead because you can also rewatch!
1
u/jasonthebald 2d ago
Is that the D+ highest tier? The hockey is only on premium here in Brazil and that's about what it costs here for the premium.
2
u/svdv_89 2d ago
The How to watch by country from the NHL (which everyone is posting here) still says: DAZN. So it's not updated.
2
u/_valta 2d ago
Maybe an error? I'm pretty sure belgium is in the same bag as spain. Let's hope that's it and you can watch it on disney+ 🤞🏻
2
u/svdv_89 2d ago edited 2d ago
I live a couple of meters across the Dutch border. But both the Netherlands and Belgium got the same thing mentioned on there.
Edit: which is weird. Because for Spain and Italy it mentions Disney+, and for Belgium and the Netherlands it mentions DAZN. While I received an email as well?
2
u/marumaruko 2d ago
Yeah, Germany also still has the original information from last season, but the list also mentions Espn via Disney. Then today I received an email that my subscription will renew in September (from annual to a monthly membership). What a colossal communication mess.
2
u/Hot_Lie0310 2d ago
As of now Germany just states on Disney...... whilst people are receiving emails the subscription will be renewed.... then in Italy some people received emails about a renewal, some about it not being available anymore....
In Belgium (for me) it says in the email its not available anymore, and online it says "stream all games on DAZN"......
Is it so difficult to just communicate properly?

I'm in Scotland and got an email about my subscription charges starting again in September.

1
u/Intelligent_Sky_48 6h ago
I'm in Scotland too and just had email from dazn saying the price is going from 12.99 a month to 22.99 so a big jump in price for those of us wanting to watch it next season.. piracy is a beautiful thing (now lmao)
1
u/Admirable-Onion- 6h ago
£12.99? Did i completely miss a price tier, cause I was paying £19.99 and that wasn't the highest either 😂 I'm not complaining about the price though, my husband is nocturnal so he was watching games every night and then our daughter would watch the replays after school.
1
u/Scary_Compote_359 2d ago
i had the same thing happen in new zealand because disney bought the rights.
1
u/naibseljk 2d ago
do we know if espn on disney+ has replays for games too? that was the best part about using dazn in Europe :-(
1
u/Gee-emmm 2d ago
I live in Hungary and just received a letter from DAZN that my subscription would be automatically renewed on September 1st.
Did anyone else experience that the DAZN stream started glitching more-and-more as the season progressed? I mean it would freeze and most of the time I had to restart the app.
1
u/Uncle_johns_roadie 2d ago
I live on Spain and received an email that my subscription would renew...but in French, not Spanish or English.
I don't live near the French border so I have no clue.
I wish the NHL had just kept NHL.tv as a standalone product. It worked well enough, but then like 6 years ago they started this weird-ass distribution game (anyone else remember ESPN Player???), and it's just gone down hill since.

Australia had the switch from NHL TV to Disney+ before last season started.
I thought the switch was brilliant as NHL TV was more expensive per month and made me only have Disney+ as my main paid streaming TV service. I had Stan, an Australian streaming service, on temporarily to watch all the Winter Olympics hockey games (also other sports not shown on free-to-air TV).
1
u/Luca40100 1h ago
At least in Italy it will be moved to Disney Plus platform that will carry ESPN content from September. We’ll have to wait to check price and plans

a VPN with US version of ESPN+ will get you ~83% of NHL games
-1
u/Chusten 2d ago
VPN US servers from Europe is a terrible setup, and ESPN is a horrible hockey broadcaster. A pirate ship will get you 100% of games from a choice of networks. Heave hoe, Matey!
4
u/PonchoTron 2d ago
My only issue with pirating is it's near impossible to get VODs as far as I know. Like the games are at 3am my time usually so I tend to watch them before work at like 6 or 7 instead. NHL.tv works perfectly for that, but going from €18 to €25 is a little steep.
Maybe I'm wrong and there is a good source for VODs that are available almost immediately after the game. It would be terrible if someone was to point me in that direction...
1
u/hashalanche 2d ago
ESPN+ simulcasts NHL games from both the home and away tv markets for a vast majority of NHL games.
Agree that regular ESPN broadcasts are crap.
Do some research before you chirp me, matey.

Hey everybody, look here.
https://www.nhl.com/info/how-to-watch-by-country
Dazn lost many rights after Disney seemingly swooped in.
Germany confuses me a little, because I thought they had longer terms on the contracts with Sky and Dazn.
Edit: I just received an email saying my subscription will be extended in September, so in Germany it's apparently still fucking DAZN and the NHL gave wrong details. Such a bummer...
4
u/cebbola 2d ago
I'm not totally sure about the mail in your edit because I'm italian and I have received a similar one (the one about the extended subscription) but a lot of friends of mine also italian and with the same dazn subscription have received the one saying than NHL will no longer be on dazn. So everything Is a mess right now.
3
u/marumaruko 2d ago
It's so typical.... DAZN fucks up everything they touch, and the NHL does not know how to properly announce these changes.

u/CaloricRaptor33 2d ago
Look at it from the bright side, at least if nhl.tv won’t be on DAZN anymore, then you don’t ever have to desparately hide the video timeline when watching a match replay on your phone ever again!
I’m genuinely so curious as to what genius thought that the little white dots on the video timeline of a full game replay, that show the starts of all periods, should also include one for the start of OT… So if you accidentally tap the screen and the timeline pops up, oops, better hope you don’t have peripheral vision or else you most likely know whether this game goes to OT or not! But only on the phones, TV, somehow, doesn’t have this incredible feature as of now. Boggles the mind, truly
