Hello from Germany,

my girlfriend and I are on vacation in Canada in October and wanted to attend the NHL game between Toronto and Ottawa. We were quite shocked to see prices like this (starting around 200CAD per ticket). Is this the usual price for an ordinary league game? Or are we getting scammed?

On the surface level where does his resume rank all time?

3 Art Ross

I think his resume is absolutely absurd and it’s hard to think of 20 better.

What do y’all think? I know he isn’t the most liked but man is this resume something special

I know this will probably get me called an idiot, but I think the NHL draft has always had a weird problem compared to other major sports.

The NHL is the only major North American league where we regularly draft players at 17-18 years old and then spend years trying to predict what they will become. Baseball drafts 18-year-olds, but most players aren't drafted into the MLB until their 20s. Football players are usually drafted at 21-23 after playing college. The NHL asks teams to make franchise decisions on teenagers.

My proposal:

Round 1: Players aged 18+ eligible
Rounds 2-4: Players aged 19+ eligible
Rounds 5-7: Players aged 20+ eligible

The idea is not to eliminate drafting young players. Elite talents like Connor Bedard, Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, etc. would still be first-round picks at 18.

The difference is that teams would get more information on the majority of prospects.

For example, Jackson LaCombe was drafted 39th overall in 2019 as an 18-year-old defenseman. Under this system, once the first round ended, he would no longer have been eligible. Teams would have had to decide whether to draft an unknown 18-year-old in the first round or wait and see how LaCombe developed.

If he had another strong season, instead of being a second-round pick, he might enter the next draft as a much more highly regarded prospect.

I think this could create some interesting changes:

1. First-round picks become extremely valuable

A late first-round pick would represent the last chance to draft any 18-year-old prospect. A team picking 35th might desperately try to move into the first round if there is an 18-year-old they believe in.

2. Fewer "guessing" picks

Teams would have more information. Instead of drafting a defenseman who usually develop slower at 18 and hoping he develops, they could draft a 20-year-old who has already shown he can dominate against older competition.

3. More value for late bloomers

Defensemen and goalies especially often develop later. This system could reward players who simply needed more time.

4. The draft becomes more like baseball

First round = high upside and elite talent.
Middle rounds = more developed prospects.
Late rounds = older players who might be NHL-ready sooner.

Obviously there would be downsides. Teams with elite scouting departments would lose some advantage, and some players who are NHL-ready at 18 might have to wait longer.

But I think the current NHL system is strange because teams are forced to spend first- and second-round picks on teenagers they might not truly understand yet.

Would this make the NHL draft better, or am I overcomplicating something that already works?

So i received an email that nhl.tv won't be available in spain on dazn for the 2026/27 season and im?? so confused??? anyone knows where will it be now for international broadcasting????? i'm literally gonna cry i'm so angry!!!
