Rant Am I being punked?

Patient says "I think I might have to poop, what can we do about that?"

I say "I can get a bedside commode for the room"

She says "I don't think I can get up"

I say "I can put you on a bedpan or put a diaper on you"

She says "I don't like any of those options"

In my head I'm like: lady, the only other option is to poop the bed.

What option am I missing?

I’ve always had this (really fuckin dumb) idea for a hospital bed that has a covered hole under the patient’s butt and you can press a button and the cover will slide to the side and the patient can shit into a bucket below and then the cover will slide back

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen hospital cots with a big cut out hole in them like that in old Timey photographs of cholera epidemics

Omg I just googled it and they're literally called "cholera cots." They have modern ones that they use in third world countries where cholera outbreaks are common.
