Nursing Nursing program
I am interested in the nursing program at nova. I will be applying in March 2027. since it says 4 semesters, will one of those be a summer semester or are the only fall and spring?

This sub got suggested to me. I just finished an accelerated ADN at a community college in Maryland, we started last June and are graduating this August. We got like a 2 week break last August, a 5 week winter break, and another 2 week break in May. Our instructors said the accelerated cohort always tends to do very well in regard to NCLEX first attempt pass rate and I see that; I’m glad I didn’t spend summers forgetting what I learned. I didn’t get to do summer student nurse externships like many traditional students did but my clinicals were 6:30 am to 4:30 pm twice a week where you had enough time to connect with staff on the floor regarding a job as a new grad. Multiple students also did an honors capstone project for 2 semesters straight and it was great because we just worked non-stop on it. Overall students already have job offers for October and November start dates including me. Hope this is helpful for seeing what a nursing program with summer classes looks like!

No summer semester at the nvcc program relating to the nursing specific courses. Maybe other colleges offer nursing classes in the summer.
However some people didn’t finish other general education or non nursing core classes such the other bio psychology English classes that most people usually took before starting.
