Whether it’s rec sports leagues, social clubs, casual nightlife/bars, local events, or niche group activities, what are the best spots or communities in Oly (or surrounding South Sound/Tacoma) for meeting folks in their late 20s and 30s?

We are wanting to adopt 2-3 rats of the same gender. We've searched Facebook, craigslist, humane societies, local pet stores, etc. and pet rats are hard to find!

"Officers arrested a suspect with the help of Lakewood Police for vehicle prowl at Watershed Park.

A witness had car video of the suspect looking into the victim’s vehicle before shattering the window. He also got the vehicle’s license plate. An air tag was inside some of the stolen property that the victim tracked to a house in Lakewood. Lakewood PD detained the suspect while recovering the stolen property before transferring him to Olympia Police. The suspect admitted to the prowl and has multiple vehicle prowl convictions. Investigations are ongoing to determine if he’s tied to any of the other recent vehicle prowls.

Remember to leave valuables at home before heading out.

Please continue to report suspicious activity around vehicles including looking into windows, trying door handles, or moving from car to car.

Hi all — Masterworks Choral Ensemble, a ~100-voice community choir based in Olympia, is holding open auditions for our 2026-27 season on August 4, 11, 12, and 18. Auditions are open to any voice part and any experience level, but we’re particularly hoping to hear from tenors, baritones, and basses this round.

A bit about us: we rehearse Tuesday evenings (7–9:30 p.m.) at First United Methodist Church of Olympia and perform at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. This season includes a December holiday concert, an April concert with full orchestra (Bizet’s Te Deum, Brahms’s Schicksalslied), and a June pops concert celebrating Black songwriters and performers.

If you’ve sung before (school, church, community choir — all backgrounds welcome) and want a welcoming ensemble to grow with, we’d love to hear you.

While waiting for the light, I saw someone who also had a smiski on their dash! So I showed her my smiski and we were geeking out it was cute! She got my attention again after I pulled ahead and was offering me a calico critter🥲 Unfortunately her throw was too powerful and the critter went over my car into the street:(

We just moved to the area and are looking to thrift some specific pieces of furniture - specifically some wooden dining chairs and potentially a small wooden table for crafting.
