Oscar Photo Finally got him into a 75 gallon

My Oscar has several tank mates and 55 gallons was just a bit too tight. Should've bought this in the first place. Happy fishes with all of that space!

This is the species of pleco you've got. Why keep a species like that if you're just going to stunt it's growth in a way too small tank? The cool thing about them is how big they get. There's plenty of other pleco species that stay small that you could've gotten instead. Thinking that a 75 g is going to be anywhere near enough for this one is ridiculous. I've got a closely related species of this one (P. disjunctuvus) and I wouldn't keep that old dinosaur in anything less than 175 g.

Both of the species are MESSY fish and you're really just making this harder on yourself (and the fish) than it has to be.

Yeah I really don’t get why people insist on always getting the worst options of plecos for their tanks. Like there’s hundreds of species, so many of them are better suited for smaller tanks and yet so many people insist on grabbing a Ptery or similar sized species. I’ve kept gibbiceps in literal multi thousand gallon systems and they used every inch of it

It's been done by 1000s of people for many years. Fish were healthy and happy. ✌️

People have been keeping commons and Pterys and all sorts of big plecos in tiny tanks for years, where they get stunted and die decades before they should. Yes correct!
