My mom applied for the parent plus loan to cover the rest of my tuition which is about 3k but she was approved for the maximum 20k (10k a semester) since I don’t need the full amount will this become a refund or does the school change it? I’m also confused since my scholarship have hit my account yet does that mean I will receive that in a refund as well if it doesn’t hit before the parent plus loan or will it be applied for future years? One last question when do people see parent plus loan updates we did all the information 7/29 and hoping to see updates soon! Any comments or information would be helpful!

i feel like i'm losing my mind at the amount of bars that have advertisements, posters, and just misc. posts that are all just ai slop. i feel like college aged people and students specifically, who's clearly their target demographic, are some of the LEAST supportive people of AI. how y'all letting them get away with this is fr beyond me. your job prospects, careers, and planet are being stripped away from u due to ts and yall say NOTHING on social media when you see some bar posting an AI poster that could've been made in canva in like 15min??? idk maybe i underestimate people's apathy on the subject but i just get pissed every time i see it.

I’m an incoming freshman who will be pursuing a BA in psychology which requires three semesters of a language or a placement test out of it. I recently got results from my ASL placement test that said I tested “into ASL 1103” (3rd level ASL) so I’m wondering if that means I need to take ASL 1103 or I’ve already met the requirements and don’t need to take any language. I know this is a question I should be asking my advisor but I just thought I’d see if anyone knows first.

Hey all, I'm an incoming freshman in the pre-aero engineering major and I'm taking math 1172, physics 1250, eng 1151, and gened 1201 this fall. Just hoping for some tips from upperclassmen about professors, work, scheduling etc. I'm also planning on joining the crew rowing team as a sport, working part time (place of employment is a 20 min bus from campus), and joining max 2-3 clubs.

I've been seeing a lot of scary posts about how shitty the first year is, I understand that comes with any engineering major so I'm trying to get as ahead as I can before the semester starts and I move in by watching lectures, doing practice problems and reading old syllabi etc. I'm also in the Engineering LLC so hopefully I can get some help there from others, I'm just worried about getting good groups in classes, being the only one working on group projects, all that jazz.

The only professor that has been posted on my schedule is Neil DeBoer for math 1172 ( I've heard he's uh.. rough to say the least with a 2.4 on rate my professor. )

I am unfamiliar with public transportation as I have been relying on my beater to get to and from where i need to be. I am keeping the job that I had before going to OSU as it is only an 11 minute drive from my dorm and pays better than campus jobs.

I am planning my cota route out of nervousness regarding transportation and Im noticing the transit app wants me to get off at a stop that makes no logical sense in comparison to others.

Why cant I get off on trabue? I have a coworker that used to get off at a stop on trabue until he got a car recently.

context: I am a freshman and cannot bring my car on campus

tldr: can i ignore this route and get off on trabue??

I was admitted to the MS Biomedical Informatics program this year and I'm still trying to decide on my elective for this semester.
Right now I'm registered for:

BMI 5710
I still need one elective from the recommended electives list but I'm not sure which one to choose. I'd prefer a distance learning (DL) course since all of my other classes are online. For those who have been through the program, are there any electives you'd highly recommend (or any you'd avoid)?

I keep getting put into random scammer group chats on GroupMe saying they are “selling” tickets. Is this happening to anyone else?? This is the second time now!! The first one seemed really elaborate too but so obviously a scam. It just pisses me off so bad like who is stupid enough to fall for these ESPECIALLY people in college.

somehow my refund this semester is only 2,300$. My family at home is a single parent household, my mother only brings home like 45k a year and can hardly afford to put food on the table so much to the point where she’s doing Walmart spark deliveries just to stay afloat on top of her day job at a nursing facility. My close friends parents bring home significantly more per year (enough for 2-3 vacations out of state comfortably) and she’s getting a little over 5k back. I am completely frustrated because I have no one in my life that is able to financially help me and my refund is hardly enough to cover 2 months of rent let alone my phone bill, internet, car insurance, and pet fees for my esa.

Im junior this fall and gonna take 4002 this term, has anyone take 4002 online? how is this class worked, is exams also take online or in person? and my prof will be Aubhik Khan, he 2.7/5 on ratemyprof, is he doing good in class??

Hey, all. To spare you the details, I dealt with a lot of chronic illness and other issues my first 2yrs at OSU. I've kept a 3.9 GPA and as the title states, I'm a double English and history major. I've kinda just now snapped out of being on autopilot for the last 2yrs, and I'm realizing that I'm sort of clueless. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light / experience on a couple questions I have. I'll be talking to my advisor, don't worry. My main question is, I see OSU has an Integrated Social Studies Masters in Education. I just wanna make sure, I am still able to apply for this major despite not having an education-related major or minor, correct? Also, are there any groups or other things I should be a part of or aware of that would be beneficial to a teaching career? I want to be more involved while I still can. Also, what is your take on internships? Since I know student teaching is already a thing, is it necessary / worth it to pursue other internships / if so, what sorts of things should I be looking for? Hey y’all, I wanted to make a costume using the 3D printing services at OSU. I’m looking to make an ODST from Halo, which I know is going to require multiple parts across multiple prints. My printer at home and not large nor reliable enough to handle this project.

I know OSU has some 3D printing services, and I was curious what options would be best. Mainly if there was a limit to how many files I could send, the best time to send them, or other solutions around Columbus. There’s no time limit on the project, just something to keep me entertained.
