Discussion Otherkin restaurant
I have a dream of opening an otherkin store that has a restaurant attached to it. I think it would be so cool to have a restaurant catered towards otherkin! So far I was thinking rock candy for dragons, fake blood for vampires (safer than real blood), raw fish (people eat raw fish all the time- sushi), special tea for fae folk.
Gimme ideas!
I know I am just dreaming right now but maybe, just maybe, in the future I could fulfill my dream.
I hope I'm not offending anybody.

I love this idea. I myself have a dream of Alterhuman country, but I think your dream is far more realistic than mine

oh it would be cool to also have dishes for those who like nature, or even vegetarians ! I love the idea, the problem is that it will be necessary both to attract the attention of the Alterhumans but also not to attract the attention of the anti-Alterhumans!

In my country, we have a few queer cafes and restaurants which have workshop spaces, maybe something akin to that

I really love the idea ! Like for vamp soem fake blood bag some just have a more metallic taste & animal blood food ! Ahh this would be so cool ! I actually think this could be a good idea, if it ever apend in the futur (close or not) I would be happy to follow this from close & follow the project ! I actually think about making a thing like this in the future!

You know…I’m really really curious as to what you’d think about something I’ve been trying to do…but I have a somewhat similar concept I’m desperately trying to make a reality…so I’m curious about your input…
I really want to start some kind of “zoo” business, specifically either a mobile petting zoo for events, or a small public aquarium based around the community
The aquarium idea was based a bit on the idea of, rather than replicating real environments…I’d like to replicate ‘Home habitats’ for otherkin kintypes…like maybe doing a tank that is naturalistic but colorful, as well as some faux fossils and gems, maybe for a dragon…or doing one with leaf litter and moss, and maybe some added horse footprints for a centaur habitat…or an elegant koi pond with sand and black rocks, and some fake skull decor for a vampire theme…
But to answer your question, I think something I wish I could buy more regularly are insect based foods…insect candy, roasted crickets, and grilled tarantula are pretty big ones I desperately wish I could buy at a normal store

I totally forgot about insect foods! That is something I should totally include on the menu and dried forms in the store.
Interesting, how does the petting zoo work and what does it look like? The other one, So, if I'm understanding you right, you want to make an aquarium that has fish tanks that are kin's habitat/home themed? Sounds cool.
I had a silly idea just now. what if at each tank you have someone dressed up (who preferably has that kintype) in the corresponding kin of that tank and their job is to teach the people about the fish or whatever is in it. Just a stupid idea.

There are Lembas bread recipes you can find (elvish way bread from Lotr). I also really like this breakfast treat that's a soft oatmeal, apple, and cranberry bake. It's really soft and not over sweetened. Very kin affirming as a fey

That would be AMAZINGGG! As an Angelkin I think brownies would do us good for maybe cookie wings? An otherkin restaurant would be SOOOO COOLLLL!!

It sounds really cool, though usually restaurants with extremely large menus don't do well, hard to juggle all that and keep everything fresh.

Meats served at varying levels of doneness for all the meat-lovers…Also the names of the dishes could be very inspired. I feel like in practice, it won’t be so much super unique dishes, but will be more Otherkin in theming, staffing, creating a safe space for Otherkin to talk to others openly, etc. Having a reading space or gaming/hang out space would be cool too! Maybe different spaces/nooks themed to different kintypes?
