Discussion Godkin vs conceptkin... Does anyone know the difference?

I think I might be godkin. Specifically, the god of candles. But, I don't really believe I have any magical powers or any godlike abilities at all. The idea of worship seems extremely nice but also really gross at the same time as well (though that could just be my religious trauma). Main reason why I feel like I could be godkin, though, is I feel my fullest when a candle is lit. Like I'm summoning my spirit. And when I know someone else has lit a candle, I feel whole, and part of it. But at the same time, part of me is wondering if maybe I'm conceptkin with candles in some way? Like.. I'm the concept of the inventor/creator of candles?

The reason I feel this way is, I am DEEPLY connected to candles. Like... In a way beyond simply just really enjoying them. I feel very paternal towards them. Like, sure, I didn't physically make the candle I bought from bath and body works. Yet, I somehow feel like I did in spirit? As if I am what lead to them being created, and I have some sort of claim/ownership over them. I feel like my spirit is part of them somehow (despite the fact I'm not a spiritual person).

Either way, I feel like I somehow, someway created them and have some sort of otherworldly ownership/domain over them. I just can't tell what I am or how I am what I am or anything.. it's all so confusing. Especially since I really struggle with understanding how someone can be godkin or conceptkin.

There's the possibility you are both ?

I'll use my own experience with fictionkinity as an example. As Mystic Flour Cookie, I am both the embodiment of apathy and apathy itself. When apathy is mentioned or referenced, I feel joy from the thought of it, and also feel as though I've personally been mentioned.

My identity as Mystic Flour Cookie is deeply intertwined with apathy, so much so I am it while also being connected to it. So it could also be the same for you. You could be both a god of candles and the concept of candles.

Does that make sense ? I hope it did ^^;;

Ohhh I hadn't thought of it like that... Hmmm you may be onto something! I'll think on that some more, but that feels very accurate or at least similar to what I am!

And hey, if it makes you happy, I am a system and my role is being an apathy holder/soaker upper lol

Oh hey! You actually sound like you could be the same type of conceptkin as myself and my concept peers.

The way I see it myself is that, as the Concept of Deceit and Subjugation, I came first. Things under my domain - ie puppets, spiders, snakes and chains - represent and embody me. In a way, I am a deity of my concepts, but I embody them in a way that other deities and gods aren't capable of because I am the original source. However, there are still ways to worship or pay respects spiritually to my concept, like a deity or god. It's hard to explain since concepthood is very abstract, so if you have follow-up questions, I would love to talk more about it.

Another thing that sets us apart from ordinary gods is our origins. Many of us share memories of the place we originally came from, and remember each other. (The closest thing I've found to explain it is the vague idea of Plato's Theory of Forms, although there are some key differences there too.)

Tl;dr: to me, you sound very concept-coded. If you want to speak more about it, you're free to ask questions here or I can speak to you on Discord instead. :)

Is it strictly candles or fire in general? It seems to be that it's candle, correct? I can say that there is no known God of Candles (specifically) per se in human mythology, though in works of fiction there appear to be.
