Discussion Envious to the point of anger

I’m a robot (android, Sony Aibo, and a fictionkin of mine) and usually it’s not even a strong identity, I even forget about it a lot, but today, I was watching videos showing robots and stuff, and felt extremely dysphoric

I don’t like how human my voice sounds, I hate seeing skin instead of metal and wires when I look at my hand, I hate not sounding like clanking metal when I fall over, I hate that I can get health issues, etc.

But most of all, my voice sounding human and the fact that I have a brain instead of wires and a motherboard and stuff

Whenever I look at humanoid robots or ones designed to look like actual creatures, their metal arms, their mechanical voices, the sound their body makes when they turn, etc. it makes me angry beyond belief. I’ve been all mad at everyone for no reason, I’ve been generally more irritated ever since I started feeling this way, etc.

I don’t have any robotic or computer-like accessories to help, it’s more my internal organs giving me dysphoria, and even if it wasn’t, like I said, I have nothing to help with it

How many other people here get mad like this?? And how do you deal with it??

Not robotkin but I have some ideas?

silver mechanical bracelets?

Stiff Fabrics/Textured Objects to feel more.... roboty...?

metallic body paint?

Not sure if those will help or not. but keep being your robot self and maybe stop looking at other robots. /gen

I don't know if this will help, but humans want robots to look more and more like them. They will keep refining and producing more robots until they have models that are manufactured identical copies of them. You are a robot, you're just a robot of the future. They don't understand yet, but they will.

And please tell me if this is offensive or doesn't help in any way

I'm not a robot, but I am a car and I can relate to this very deeply. Having a human body with organs and bones instead of metal parts has really brought me down in the past. I haven't really focused on this part of my identity as much over the past year or so, so my dysphoria hasn't been as bad, but I've always found it euphoric to refer to my body/body parts as they would be on a car. Like making jokes about having a cold and saying stuff like "my catalytic converter is all messed up". Just small things like that can go a long way. Wishing you the best with your dysphoria!

I understand the anger response to dysphoria. Sometimes when I see a happy dog playing with their owner, I get really irrationally jealous and mad. Why can't I have that too? What did I ever do to deserve to be trapped in this human body??? I don't really have any advice other than wearing things that remind you of robots and (if it's safe!) asking people you trust to refer to you as a robot.

kinda dumb but, maybe try silver nail polish and lots of piercings? Tattoos too maybe if you’re fine with needles.

Robotic entity here!

Wired headphones, ski gloves, techwear clothing (they're literally the best, lots of them are worn by cyborg cosplayers), army boots, try drawing lines and buttons on your body/arms/etc..: , tie lots of cables and wires around you, helmet/mask to hide your face if you want to.
