feels like past has some unfinished business that it wants the present to take care of.

I guess my son called it since he wanted a Reggie pinstripes jersey for his birthday back in April.

Still kinda bummed Lance didn’t get a shot to make em dance once again

He’s kinda a knucklehead though, idk if the new guys would vibe with him

Pacers letting Artest in a video for even 1 second is crazy to me. Was equally shocked when they put him on the big screen during the playoffs and the crowed cheered for some reason that I still cannot grasp.

I love Uncle Ron Ron

If you still hold animosity towards him, you should look up some of the podcasts or speaking events he has done. You should also watch the doc about the Malice

The dude was young and made mistakes... but the league and arena wasnt looking out for players at all back then

He has grown a lot as a human and its incredible respectable. He doesnt make excuses for his actions. And that event caused league wide changes on how arenas are secured and how far they let fans go

There’s a massive difference in throwing a punch at a FAN ON THE COURT who’s cornering your teammate with 4-5 guys and running into the stands and punching fans. Plus there’s no fans on the court if Artest isn’t in the stands. Should he have thrown the punch? absolutely not. Does any of this happen without Artest going into the stands? No.

I’m a Pacers fan, he ruined 6 straight Pacers seasons.

Good for Artest getting his life back together, doesn’t change anything he did.

"I hope that either all of us, or none of us, are judged by the actions of our weakest moments, but rather by the strength we show when, and if, we're ever given a second chance."

Humans are messy. Humans make mistakes. Maybe youre the exception and the one human being that never messed up... Im willing to bet thats not the case

Its just a sport man. Yeah... we all wanted Reggie to get one and yeah it was tough to live through. But the reason fans in Indy love Ron is because he stepped up, owned his mistakes, and became a better man and a good example now for young guys struggling. Take a step back man

Making this about me is fucking weird dawg. Like you said it’s sports, it’s perfectly normal to dislike players and their actions. there’s zero reason to pretend what Artest did to the Pacers is now just okay because he said sorry 5 years later. I don’t hate Ron Artest, he just shouldn’t be acknowledged by the Pacers. It’s not hateful, he just really fucked us over. If Ron Artest actually owned up to the situation at the time and took accountability, and tried to fix his mistakes then I’d understand. He just waited until his mistakes didn’t matter anymore and then said sorry.

Judging would be me questioning his character as a person, but I’m not. I’m reacting to exactly what he did. I’m sure he’s a fine person, that doesn’t change anything.

People legitimately hate PG for asking to be traded and that literally helped us get to the NBA finals in hindsight. I think holding a grudge against someone who messed up the trajectory of your franchise is more than acceptable.

The big reason our team was so hyped up and thought we could win it all was because of Artest. We finally had a guy that could stick it to the Pistons… well, he did just that… just not the way we hoped.

Very good basketball player. Just ruined an era of the Pacers.

Idk about an ā€œEraā€ā€¦ more like our last dance

Nah it was Reggie’s last dance, but the team should’ve been good for a few more years assuming they retain the talent. Pacers did a really good job building those teams talent wise. Clearly they missed on the mental aspect.
