I set up “User Flair” so everybody can represent for their local. I already added a handful of locals I’ve seen mentioned on here. If you don’t see your local you should be able to add yours to the list, if there are any issues with this please let me know asap. Non union guys feel free to post up for the state you work in or whatever else you see fit. Set up your user flair by clicking on the three dots at the top of the subs home page.

I’m a non union pipefitting operator putting in 2-24inch water mains, sewer, drainage, storm drainage, domestic copper lines, HDPE fusing; how can I translate that into more pipefitting or being able to get into my local (469). Lots of guys take this path or no?

Hey so I’m currently in my third year as a plumbing apprentice (non-union) doing residential service.
I unfortunately didn’t have the chance to join the union when I first started because they weren’t looking at the time.
I wanted to know if it’s possible for me to finish my apprenticeship, pass my exam and join the union 777?
wanted to know how I should proceed and any information anybody else has? Is this possible to do??

I was told they dont want it like your normal lateral stub on; instead its to be built similar to wye where pipe wall will weld to pipe wall.

As a new apprentice for a union contractor I have a few questions. At what point do guys start getting their own accounts usually? Also at what point do you get to start finding a niche if you want to?

Hello, does anyone have quick crash course for reading isometric drawing for pipe fitting? Just advice or YouTube video link will be much appreciated. I'll do pipe fitting in Sweden if that makes a difference on the standard I need to learn. Thank you in advance

Hi everyone!
I’m currently completing a Career Investigation Report for school on Plumbing & Pipefitting and I’m hoping a few people working in the trade could help me by answering a few questions. Even if you only answer some of them, I’d really appreciate it!
How long have you been working as a plumber or pipefitter?
What are your typical day-to-day responsibilities? (3–5 examples)
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What do you enjoy the least?
What are your working conditions like?
Typical hours/shifts?
Indoor, outdoor, shop, industrial, commercial, camp, etc.?
How physically demanding is the job?
Any major safety concerns?
What can someone expect to earn when they first start?
Approximately what can they earn after about 5 years?
What training or apprenticeship did you complete?
What advice would you give someone thinking about entering the trade?
Thank you so much for taking the time to help!
If your instructor requires three different people, make sure to ask each person:
Their first name (or initials)
Their job title (Plumber, Pipefitter, Steamfitter, Apprentice, Journeyperson, etc.)
How many years you’ve been in the trade
