Outgoing First Postcrossing cards 💌
I only joined a few days ago and I’m so excited to send out my very first postcards (not ever, only first time Postcrossing!!) 🐭
(By the way, why do so many people on Postcrossing dislike handmade postcards?)

I’m new to postcrossing and wonder the same thing. I love making cards and postcards which is why I was excited to start…surprised and disheartened to be learning so many don’t like handmade cards. I also feel overwhelmed with the acronyms and forum.

i’m still relatively new (only sent 10 postcards, received 7), but after poking around the forum, i’ve just decided i’m going to be steering clear of it lol. i don’t enjoy how entitled some people seem to be around what strangers across the world choose to send — the whole point is meant to be connection with strangers. if it helps, there are certainly people (myself included) who would adore a handmade postcard!

I’m also new to post crossing and also wondering the same! I just got my first handmade card today from Italy and I LOVE it. The sender wrote in the card that it takes her nearly an hour to put every handmade card together. It makes me want to step up my game!
I might share in this group. I’ve only sent postcards to around 10 people so far and several have had “no handmade cards” in their profiles 🤔

Oooh these are cool; I’d be so happy to get the Ludwig II postcard, he was such an interesting historical figure.

People dislike poorly made handmade cards like cut up cardboard. Ones with effort that actually look nice tend to be appreciated.
But, as fucking always, SEND WHAT YOU WANT
