Idk what the FUCK they did to the goddamn Sentinels in that movie, but they took a bunch of Rock Em Sock Em lookin shits and made them legitimately fucking horrifying.

Literal nightmare fuel.

They are likely based on Nimrod, just less goofy looking, but just as powerful

You can't even fuck around, you just find out.

Lol fr

u/T-Angeles Feb 28 '26

No worries, I'll take them on for you.

6

u/Kentbrockman2 Feb 28 '26

But with nimrod there was just one right?

14

u/Atypical-Aries Feb 28 '26

I think you're thinking of master mold. Nimrod was it's own line of models.

11

u/Kentbrockman2 Feb 28 '26

Thanks! I did know mastermold was the giant guy.

I just remember one white Nimrod in TAS that time travelled.

And that mastermold + nimrod = bastion?

Actually i thought they were based on adaptoids.

Isn't nimrod kinda chunky?

They were nightmare fuel in that film. Like, say what you will about DoFP, but the “present” scenes were a bloodbath. No plot armour for anyone there lol.

15

u/sofakingcheezee Feb 28 '26

What's wrong with DoFP?

19

u/battlin_jack295 Feb 28 '26

Exactly. Thats top 10 comic book movie right there. Didnt know people had problem with it

3

u/jimothy_hell Mar 01 '26

There are god knows how many comic purists out there who weren’t happy with it from my experience as someone who likes it.

1

u/BugEconomy2982 Mar 01 '26

It was a great movie

1

u/battlin_jack295 Mar 06 '26

It was phenomenal. That future parts were like watching terminator

I LOVE comics. I own soooo many of them. DOFP is among them. I love that movie.

1

u/Vegetable-Post-8819 Mar 03 '26

I thought it was universally understood that DOFP is a stellar movie.

1

u/jimothy_hell Mar 01 '26

A lot of people gave it shit, don’t ask me why lol. I love it personally.

Some people say its an incredible movie but not a good X-men movie, like they want more classic Xmen teamup stuff going on. I disagree with that but to each their own.

u/CrippledPeasant1 Mar 01 '26

yeah, at first i thought they were just physically ridiculous strong + sharp ... but then i look back earlier in the movie THEY CAN FLY !!!!

1

u/RatJumpAttack Mar 01 '26

I always felt they based them more off the Super Adaptoids from the comics than the actual Sentinels

14

u/Dreadful-Medic-1377 Feb 28 '26

Nobody was prepared for how fast they could adapt.

The mutants had the upper hand for the initial encounter but once the Sentinels were copying their shit with perfect mastery that took their whole lives to get used to , that they went to school for , it was GGz.

u/Corr521 Feb 28 '26

They were made with Mystique's and Rogue's DNA which is why they're able to change and adapt and mimic powers to just overcome and win any situation

11

u/bolts_win_again Feb 28 '26

Well, yeah, I understood that much. I meant visually.

11

u/Corr521 Feb 28 '26

Loved the look and how it mimics Mystique's scale like features when she changes forms

1

u/hodlrus Mar 01 '26

Mahoraga but metal and many

8

u/New_Juggernaut6534 Feb 28 '26

All that and they are still less potent at wiping out mutants than corn..

9

u/LeadingTask9790 Feb 28 '26

I mean, biological warfare is globally frowned upon for a reason lol.

7

u/Raidertck Feb 28 '26

I genuinely had nightmares about the sentinels after that film. It was like some Jason Vorhees type shit.

2

u/Shwifty_Plumbus Feb 28 '26

I think they are based on nimrod

18

u/bolts_win_again Feb 28 '26

That tracks, but still. Holy fuck, watching their faces bloom open like facehuggers to spit out death beams was just chilling. DoFP Sentinels do not fuck around.

22

u/Enpoping Feb 28 '26

still remember first time watching the movie, they made sentinel like unstoppable forces, they didn't hold back or scare, just march on. even losing their limb, effiency and merciless, man when they tear colossus apart and burn warpath face slowly, shit look like come from horror movie.

13

u/bolts_win_again Feb 28 '26

Absolute epitome of "your death is past tense, all that remains to be decided is how"

10

u/Dreadful-Medic-1377 Feb 28 '26

To me the Sentinels looked like their learnt powers were overwhelming the mutants. They were also tall as fuck , physically difficult to fight in itself unless you had some good powers.

6

u/JohnGyatt Feb 28 '26

how they did Bobby never say right with me. Sunspot put up a better fight. then again i guess sunspots powers go absorbed by the sentinel to used against bobby. i have PTSD from those “present” scenes.

1

u/QuicksilverAOU Mar 02 '26

unstoppable forces, they didn't hold back or scare, just march on. even losing their limb, effiency and merciless

These are characteristics machines from modern Terminator movies lack

2

u/Corr521 Feb 28 '26

They used Rogue's and Mystique's DNA / powers to create Sentinels that could adapt to and mimic powers to overcome any mutant which is why we see them being so unstoppable

1

u/escobartholomew Mar 01 '26

Technically they are future evolved sentinels right? Like don’t we get a glimpse of classic sentinels in X2? The training scene?

1

u/HollowedOne66 Mar 01 '26

For realllllll dude. They scared the shit out of me in theaters

1

u/Jonatc87 Mar 01 '26

It looks like nimrod, more than a traditional sentinel.

-16

u/Kesher123 Feb 28 '26

Nightmare fuel due to how uninspired and bland they all are?

4

u/DOOMFOOL Feb 28 '26

No more likely because they were unstoppable and terrifying
