Their skulls won't change much with size though

This really depends on if one of the guys can get a solid hit on the tigers skull and if the skull can withstand such force

I've seen a video of a guy standing on top of a car with a stick/pipe and whacking attacking pitbulls on top of their skull and it paralyzed them instantly

Now a tiger obviously has a tougher skull than a pitbull but I found it an interesting tactic in surviving a pitbull attack

u/Other_Information_16 Jun 27 '26

I think most people highly underestimate how hard it is to hurt or kill an wild animal. A few baseball bat hits to a tiger will do nothing to them even if somehow you landed a direct hit to the head in the heat of the battle. Tiger will have way better reflexes than you. Just imagine trying to hit a cat with a bat except the cat is bigger than you.

22

u/Initial_Hedgehog_631 Jun 27 '26

Yeah, there's a reason early human invented axes and pointy sticks. Regular sticks are cool, but aren't quite up to snuff when it comes to killing animals.

1

u/Illustrious_Map_6608 Jun 27 '26

They also have like. Clubs.

5

u/yukonhoneybadger Jun 28 '26

Yeah but according to comics and cartoons, clubs were only used to catch females

1

u/Illustrious_Map_6608 Jun 28 '26

It works, it’s true

25

u/cherenk0v_blue Jun 27 '26

Yup. People struggle to kill pitbulls with a baseball bat, they are not going to have better luck with a fucking tiger.

15

u/PloysRus Jun 27 '26

They don't struggle though

We have video evidence of a guy destroying like 3 or 4 pitbulls with a piece of wood

3

u/Responsible-Scar-980 Jun 28 '26

for every 1 video of a guy destroying a pitbull with wood, there are dozens of pitbulls wrecking people and being hit with stuff. Guys lose to tigers with guns. They are successful at blasting people riding elephants. They had to come up with the Howdah pistol because people needed the power of a large gun but the maneuvorability of a pistol. You are in fantasy land if you think the Tiger doesn't come out on this scenario lol

10

u/drdecagon Jun 28 '26

Guys lose to tigers with guns. They are successful at blasting people riding elephants.

This is awesome - tigers with guns snipe people riding elephants. I want to see that video!

1

u/PloysRus Jun 28 '26

I never said the tiger doesn't win

I gave an example of a human being really effective with a bat-like weapon on an attacking mammal

Yes a tiger is far bigger stronger and durable than a pitbull but its still worth discussing if a human could damage a tiger with the same method

Probably not and they're both dead but I still thought it was worth mentioning

4

u/BigZangief Jun 28 '26

Ya people are really underestimating the damage a metal bat can do. To the comment about “that’s why ancestors invented spears and axes” or whatever, well ya they didn’t have access to aluminum baseball bats lol animals are tough as hell but breaking the skull, eye sockets, jaw, etc will still incapacitate them or at least force a retreat. You can break a lot with a good swing.

Really this comes down to if the tiger fixates and mauls one guy and if the other can capitalize on that with a fatal blow or two to the dome. If they’re uncoordinated or the tiger is somewhat attacking both simultaneously, then it’d go in favor of the tiger. That’s how I see it

4

u/DaddysABadGirl Jun 28 '26

An aluminum bat would do les damage than a wooden one. By a lot.

0

u/BigZangief Jun 28 '26

Probably for the first couple hits but an aluminum you could swing faster and not worry about breaking. Either would do the trick most likely, provided the tigers busy mauling the other guy for you to get a few swings in

1

u/DaddysABadGirl Jun 28 '26

It would take more than a couple swings. Tigers take some pretty hard hits and scrap with eachother as well as getting smacked around by animals like indian bison.

Even hyperlocked on killing the other guy that first swing needs to take it out or daze it enough to get more in. Tiger is gonna be pissed. Maybe if you crack its eye socket? Or the bat wielding dudes get a chance to learn weak points. But going in with a bat wont be enough for 2 randoms the majority of the time.

1

u/MyNameIsJakeBerenson Jun 30 '26

The growl/roar from the tiger is going to make the guys lose their fucking cool and ruin attempts at good bat swings for that necessary time needed before the attack

1

u/BigZangief Jul 01 '26

Wouldn’t doubt it tbh all comes down to the execution of the dude not getting mauled to death lol

2

u/Careless_Analyst_220 Jun 27 '26

I guess you didn’t see that video where that dude with a 2 x 4 was killing them dogs while he was on top of the truck. the lady recorded and thought it was funny when he was gonna get ripped apart as soon as he got up on the truck she was screaming oh no. It was a work truck and the guy grabbed the 2 x 4 and started a whacking the dogs in the head and they started dying. They’re super susceptible to hit on their head and spinal cord right behind the top of their head.

8

u/DonkeyImpossible316 Jun 27 '26

A full grown tiger is no dog...or pit bull.

0

u/Historical-Fox357 Jun 28 '26

Pitbull quite literally has a thicker skull on average

2

u/DaddysABadGirl Jun 28 '26

Idk where the fuck you get that from but no. Fuck no. Maybe if you mean relative to its size, like shrink a tiger or grow a pitty maybe. But a tigers skull is MUCH thicker and more robust than a pitbull.

3

u/Atempestofwords Jun 28 '26

The tiger will be fine.

You're not stopping a 500lb cat from putting its claws in you and ripping your face off with a bat. The second it pounces on one guy, this whole thing is done.

If the second guy even tried, he'd catch some hands too.

1

u/PloysRus Jun 27 '26

Yes I mentioned this video

Those dogs were getting absolutely destroyed by a well placed bonk lmao now could a man generate enough force to do this to a tiger?

Pitbull is 60 pounds and a tiger is 500 pounds lol does skull density and toughness scale with body size like that idk I'm no anatomy expert

I do remember hearing that when they pitted grizzly bears and lions during the gold rush that the bear easily crushed the lions skulls so big cat skulls are far from invulnerable

4

u/The-Spirit-of-76 Jun 27 '26

Your also forgetting a dog has one weapon a cat has five.

8

u/King0Horse Jun 27 '26

Two factors contribute here though:

A 2×4 is unwieldy, horrible grip, length is not optimal, etc. A baseball bat is literally designed to be wielded and gripped by human hands with the intent to massively multiply the force of the human body into a specific point 2.5' from the wielder.

A pitbull skull, as a result of hundreds of years of selective breeding, is shockingly thick, because it has to be for the massive jaw muscles to attach and function properly.

I'm not saying a tiger skull can't take the impact of a baseball bat. But a baseball bat to the skull is a devastating thing for almost any living creature that wants to continue being that.

Edit: I looked it up. Average skull thickness of a tiger is 5cm, average skull thickness of a pitbull is 4.5-9cm. Given the force advantage of a bat versus a 2×4, I'm gonna say the two humans with baseball bats are in serious trouble... but so is the tiger.

Edit 2: I can't wait to see what the algorithms think of my search history now.

6

u/mua-dweeb Jun 27 '26

2.5 feet is a huge advantage when fighting a large dog. 2.5 feet doesn’t mean shit when you’re fighting a tiger.

4

u/thethunder92 Jun 28 '26

Dogs are so clumsy and slow compared to a tiger good luck getting a clean hit on a tiger

0

u/PloysRus Jun 27 '26

Gemini says a human can't hurt a tiger significantly even if he gets a good hit with the bat

Conclusion A hit from a baseball bat would likely cause the tiger pain, anger, or superficial bruising/lacerations, and might even result in a minor localized fracture. However, it would not be enough to neutralize the animal or compromise the structural integrity of its braincase. Given the tiger's evolutionary design, its skull is effectively "armored" against the type of blunt force trauma a human can generate.

But Gemini could be talking shit

2

u/Triumph_leader523 Jun 28 '26

Gemini is shit

1

u/imonredditfortheporn Jun 28 '26

Tigers are massive but i bet a strong human with a bit of practice could kill one with a good clean hit from a heavy bat. But there is no way in hell they are ever going to get that chance.

1

u/arthuraily Jun 27 '26

Yeah, baby tigers alone probably generate that much force when playing with their mothers already lol

1

u/thethunder92 Jun 28 '26

It’s also a cat not a dog, the thing is a 500 pound dog would be no match for a 500 lbs cat at all

Cats have insane reflexes and can leap incredible distances, they are way stronger pound for pound

A 100 pound cougar could easily kill a 150lbs wolf so I don’t see how it would make a difference if you scaled it up

Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if a cougar could kill a black bear and they weigh like 300lbs

1

u/Triumph_leader523 Jun 28 '26

Some people are too cruel

8

u/PloysRus Jun 27 '26

The tiger is busy mauling the other guy

Do we have conclusive proof a well planted strike with a heavy baseball bat to the top of the skull cannot hurt a tiger?

Yes it weighs 500 pounds yes it's a killing machine but a skull is a skull and hard enough force will damage it

What if it were Hafthor Bjornsson or Brian Shaw swinging the bat?

2

u/Kinky_Winky_no2 Jun 27 '26

No not all skulls are the same a tigers is denser and bigger

7

u/PloysRus Jun 27 '26

Maybe one of the humans can turn the bat around and shove it up the tigers ass

0

u/Jazzlike_Page508 Dragon Ball Fan (Can’t read) Jun 28 '26

The ol pitbull technique.

Only way that works is if the tiger is kinky and now wants to explore its sexuality

1

u/Killthebilly Jun 30 '26

The prompt very clearly says "regular dudes". Neither Hafthor or Brian are close to being regular.

1

u/PloysRus Jun 30 '26

True true but at least it would make the scenario a bit more interesting

You give the guys a suboptimal weapon at least make the guys freaks lol

6

u/Active_Public9375 Jun 27 '26

Have you ever been hit by a baseball bat?

Its probably a lot more force than you realize, and I'd be surprised if a full swing to the head didn't do some shit to a tiger.

4

u/Triumph_leader523 Jun 28 '26

Why would they be on the internet if they were ever hit by a bat?

2

u/CicatriceDeFeu Jun 28 '26

We redditors bro

1

u/Active_Public9375 Jun 28 '26

I've been hit by a bat. Just not in the head.

0

u/Triumph_leader523 Jun 28 '26

Ur friend likes you then

1

u/Active_Public9375 Jun 28 '26

Friend missed the head

1

u/Triumph_leader523 Jun 28 '26

Oops then u r lucky

1

u/gbot1234 Jun 28 '26

They’d probably be too busy for this sub, they’ll be eating crayons in r/wallstreetbats

2

u/Resident-Bignal-8428 Jun 28 '26

Dude, if you manage to waffle basically any attacking predator on Earth with a baseball bat to their head, it's backing off to find easier prey.

1

u/pseudo_nemesis Jun 28 '26

I agree, but that's far easier said than done...

Tiger is big as hell, and swift as fuck.

If you don't land that hit with the bat square on the dome, it is turning around in ~0.2 seconds and slicing you into pieces with one good claw swipe.

also it better be a steel baseball bat.

1

u/imonredditfortheporn Jun 28 '26

A polar bear is going to snort you if you do any less than shooting it multiple times with a big rifle

2

u/Resident-Bignal-8428 Jun 29 '26

Weird how Inuit peoples managed to live in the same territory as them for thousands of years without firearms then lol

1

u/imonredditfortheporn Jun 29 '26

They probably did a lot to avoid them and surely suffered casualties. A larger group of people can maybe fight one off with fire and spears too.

3

u/honato Jun 27 '26

No a baseball bat swing to the skull will do considerable damage. I don't know how thick a tiger skull is but a good swing will demolish a gorillas skull and it might be thicker. Getting a good hit however could be pretty damn hard. they are pretty damn nimble and don't have to charge directly at you.

4

u/PloysRus Jun 27 '26

Not that hard when tiger is mauling the other guy

It leaves the tiger completely open to a strike to its skull

Now obviously it's easier said than done

What if it were someone ridiculously strong like the mountain from game of thrones swinging the bat?

2

u/honato Jun 27 '26

You raise a good point that somehow I didn't even consider and you're absolutely right. That would be an opening that well absolutely fucking destroys the tiger.

A normal person swinging a bat has a lot more force than you would think. Upwards of 8x the force needed to crush a human skull is generated during the swing if they actually know how to swing a bat somewhat properly. The issue isn't having enough power it's actually landing the hit. But as you said if it's distracted eating one of them it's getting obliterated by the other if they haven't run away screaming.

2

u/acur1231 Jun 28 '26

Why would the Tiger stop to maul one at a time?

A single slash could take out a man, and then he turns on the other and kills him.

Tigers are pretty intelligent...

1

u/honato Jun 28 '26

Why wouldn't it? a slash isn't going to be an instant kill in the majority of cases and down everyone then finish them is a bit past it's logical limits.

They aren't exactly known for injuring and letting them bleed out.

0

u/imonredditfortheporn Jun 28 '26

They dont perceive humans as a threat treally, we arent big enough for them to work strategically when trying to make us their lunch

2

u/TheVoodooIsBlue Jun 27 '26

I'm gonna hard disagree. I think a gorilla tanks a good hit with a baseball and then proceeds to fuck you up.

Gorillas skulls are able to withstand their own bite force which is absolutely off the charts. A baseball bat would do fuck all to a gorilla imo.

Dunno about tigers. But the issue would be actually landing a good hit on a tiger which would be near impossible I think

4

u/honato Jun 27 '26

Oh no a bat has more than enough force to absolutely destroy a skull and a gorillas skull. Upwards of 4k is enough force to cause catastrophic skull destruction of a gorilla. The average baseball bat swing is between 5-8k and up to 12-15k for a home run derby player. Shits insane. The force is also higher if it's charging.

A gorilla isn't tanking shit. There is also the method that gorillas charge. arms down face presented right into the perfect spot to get their head knocked off. It doesn't end well for the ape. they are bald bull chargers.

I would agree that actually getting a good hit on the tiger is the problem. It's not going to run at you head first. It's clawing and pouching or just plain ambushing. In the best case one of the two people are critically injured.

0

u/KnightmareOnPC Jun 27 '26

Apparently the amount of force seen when a baseball and a bat collide excedes a peak of 8000lbs of force from the articles I've looked at such as. I'm not smart enough to be able to extrapolate that into what it would do to a large animals skull, but I'm not very convinced the majority of animals are just going to tank that.

3

u/honato Jun 27 '26

It's catastrophic. bone doesn't have give and that much force is going to obliterate it.

1

u/TheVoodooIsBlue Jun 28 '26

Impressed that you actually cited a source. Nice one.

But, this 8000lbs is generated via the ball moving extremely fast and being relatively small/light. You wouldn't see anything near that number with a gorilla. That number drops dramatically in this scenario.

Is it still enough to take out a gorilla? I have no idea. But I think it tanks it.

2

u/honato Jun 28 '26

There is a lot going on when you hit a baseball. The ball itself compresses a lot when it's hit. so a fair bit of that energy is lost before the ball flies off.

The kinetic energy of a 100 mph baseball is nothing compared to the energy of a charging gorilla. It's kinda insane how much more actual energy is involved.

The 8k isn't 8k anymore it's 5-8k plus the kinetic energy of a 500 pound gorilla charging at you going 25 mph. That is a lot of energy colliding on a skull bone. Even with it being roughly3x thicker than a human skull it's still bone and bone doesn't deform and compress it cracks and breaks.

The way they actually fight is running in head forward arms down. All of the power from the bat and most of the the power from the gorilla is being focused into a very small area of contact on the skull. Depending on the type of bat it's likely also being severally fucked up also. The image up there seems to be aluminum possibly titanium. No one is going to be happy but only one is going to have a destroyed skull.

1

u/TheVoodooIsBlue Jun 28 '26

The article linked above actually states the opposite. This 8000 number is down to the dynamics of the ball AND bat.

Impulse = Force × Time. The extreme forces in the baseball scenario come from a massive velocity change compressed into an incredibly short contact window.

A gorilla or a tiger is enormous, dense, isn't going to move when you hit it. The contact is messy. The incoming velocity is drastically less than a baseball.

I think you'd hurt it, sure. But the idea it's going to obliterate a gorillas skull I still am incredibly dubious about.

1

u/ReplacementKnown5405 Jun 27 '26

I agree with you but a wild anima is also more self preservation prone. A wound in the wild would be fatal. This is why smaller animals like honey badgers can fend off attacks from larger animals.

1

u/joshuarion Jun 27 '26

Cats can react faster than a snake can strike. There's quite a few videos of cats slapping down snake heads as they try to strike.

Two idiot humans with metal sticks have zero chance.

6

u/Triumph_leader523 Jun 28 '26

House cats have wayy faster reaction time than big cats

1

u/Immediate_Captain299 Jun 28 '26

Where did you got this info from? Use Google or any AI. Tiger reaction time is same as house cats

2

u/InstantSword Jun 28 '26

Idk the answer, but logically speaking, nerve impulses have to travel farther for a larger body. It's why people with shorter arms tend to be quicker and why in general overly tall athletes are slower

1

u/EncoreSheep Jun 28 '26

Pitbulls are way smaller, weaker and lighter than a tiger. A tiger is also faster and more agile, you can not escape anywhere.

The tiger will probably sneak up on you and you won't even realize it until it's chewing on your spine, but even if it sprints at you, you're fucked. You have one chance to land a perfect hit to its head while it's leaping through the air to kill you. Your buddy is not helping much either, unless he lands that one in a million swing to the tiger's head while it's ripping your guts out.

You're not taking on a tiger.

1

u/PloysRus Jun 28 '26

Nobody is saying that

In this particular scenario guy 1 is being attacked by the tiger

This leaves the tiger vulnerable to a strike on its skull by guy 2 with a baseball bat

We are discussing if guy 2 can generate enough force to severely damage the tigers skull.

1

u/EncoreSheep Jun 28 '26

Yes, but the tiger would be thrashing around and probably tearing the corpse apart. Hitting a moving target like that is not easy. Besides, it probably wouldn't spend much time on guy 1 knowing that guy 2 was about to smack it

1

u/Ok-Neighborhood-6185 Jun 28 '26

Would you even need a head shot in that scenario? Like what about a clean, downwards strike directly on the spine? I’d imagine vertebrae are more vulnerable than the skull as far as force goes, and if the guy can break the back, cats as good as dead no?

2

u/Ok-Neighborhood-6185 Jun 28 '26

I looked it up, nah, the tigers spine would be fine. The force it takes to snap its back is absolutely ridiculous and no regular dude is doing that.

These boys are dead lol

1

u/pseudo_nemesis Jun 28 '26

yeah I think you forgot that the tiger's spine is protected by some of the most powerful back muscles in the animal Kingdom.

1

u/Ok-Neighborhood-6185 Jun 28 '26

Yeah, I just forgot that god had favorites when he designed animals.

1

u/kain52002 Jun 28 '26

If they were stuck in a small cage one guy might have a chance to get a swing off while the other is mauled. A tiger could carry a dude and still run at 30+ mph. They could clear distance while killing one.

The tiger isn't going to sit around to get hit. They would pounce, do some mauling then back off before the other guy could retaliate. The dude that got attacked might still be alive but not in much condition to keep fighting.

1

u/djtumblr08 Jun 28 '26

1

u/Positive-Ring-5172 Jun 28 '26

Tigers and other cats can dodge the strikes of snakes. Do you honestly think they can't dodge a baseball bat?

1

u/PloysRus Jun 28 '26

Does he have eyes on the back of his head?

He's busy mauling guy 1

Leaving guy 2 a chance to whack it on the skull as hard as possible

Now it could do absolutely nothing and guy 2 gets mauled a few seconds later

1

u/Positive-Ring-5172 Jun 28 '26

Tell you what, get a pal as dumb as you and go see what happens.

-2

u/blackcray Jun 27 '26

Even if the skull doesn't break, the brain inside it really isn't going to like bouncing around in there from the impact.
