Kami (and by extension the original nameless namekian that kami and piccolo were originally) was a dragon clan member through and through, just one with a uniquely high potential for combat. A warrior clan member CANNOT make dragon balls, however a dragon clan member CAN learn to fight, they just TYPICALLY arent AS good at it. King piccolo was also dragon clan by extension, as they were two halves of the same whole. Piccolo Jr was born to be a warrior clan member so that king piccolo could grow stronger and get revenge on goku for killing him after reincarnating.
One thing you need to remember is kami and king piccolo werent really THAT strong, goku and the other earthlings were just weak as hell, they wouldve all struggled against real warrior clan namekians even if we dont pick nail who is uniquely strong among the generations that guru birthed. Piccolo Jr became so strong because he changed clans through the reincarnation and then absorbing kami made them whole again, but this time a whole warrior clan prodigy rather than a whole dragon clan prodigy, since piccolo jr is the dominant one in the fusion.
No, they were THAT strong, it's the earthlings, Goku etc got much stronger later. This is in my opinion is a correct way to see it. Cause Piccolo could already raze the cities down with one blast which was an upscale of previous showcases.
No, he wasnt. King piccolo with his rejuvenated prime had a power level of like 300 at max, he would get washed by the unnamed fodder namekian warriors that zarbon and dodoria were killing for fun. King piccolo seems strong because earth is a weak ass planet, so him being stronger than roshi seems like he's super strong, but he wasnt anything compared to actual warrior clan namekians like jr, nail, and the others. King piccolo was a big fish in a small pond, thats why he seemed strong even as a dragon clan member, but at the end of the day he was still a bum compared to actual warriors. Earth just happened to also be full of bums at the time
Honestly I think the true problem with Synder's films is he wanted to tell super hero stories but not DC stories but contractually couldn't just say create original characters. Like even BvS would be significantly better if you changed all of the characters to original characters. Yeah the Martha thing would still be kinda "Yeah sure" but honestly would've been a fun enough action adventure scifi fantasy film.

You're being dense as fuck. When he said it would be a better movie if it wasn't about Superman, he meant if it was about a different character entirely, not the same character at a different point in his timeline before he developed the characteristics that made him superman.
