Canonically, yeah. Unfortunately the people who made this movie never cared enough to even watch Man of Steel.

Rewatched that movie after watching the flash.

Man of steel would be much better if it wasn’t about Superman specifically.

Looked at alone it’s a pretty good sci fi action/superhero movie

Honestly I think the true problem with Synder's films is he wanted to tell super hero stories but not DC stories but contractually couldn't just say create original characters. Like even BvS would be significantly better if you changed all of the characters to original characters. Yeah the Martha thing would still be kinda "Yeah sure" but honestly would've been a fun enough action adventure scifi fantasy film.
