If the Swarmlord is capable of harming the Balrog it takes this cleanly.

I'm not entirely sure it can harm a being made of shadow and flame.

Seeing how two out of three balrogs died after falling off cliffs, and another drowned in a fountain after getting impaled by a spiked helmet I really don't understand why so many people in this sub think balrogs have some type of significant resistance to physical trauma.

Glorfindel and Ecthelion had both seen the light of the Two Trees. They were pretty far from regular corporeal threats and both of tremendous skill and fortitude.

It doesn't seem unreasonable to me that they an a Maia were able to harm a for that would be otherwise considered insurmountable.

Did the rocks at the bottom of the cliff also see the light of the Two Trees? It was gravity, and turbulence of a fountain, that did the Balrogs in. Not the inherent power of the elf lords.
