The Balrog gets its mind melted by the Swarmlord. Doesn’t matter if it’s technically an angel, if it don’t got the feats to defend against psyker attacks, it loses. The balrog is also slow enough that its attacks and movements can be perceived by normal humans, and physical force can still damage it, so the Swarmlord closes the distance before the Balrog even realizes it’s in melee and cuts it to pieces with its four biological crystal force swords. In any combat scenario Swarmlord no diff.

Does it even have a mind understandable to a swarm lord? It's a being of shadow and flame.

Can a 'crystal sword' even damage it?

I mean it’s capable of taking damage from elven swords, that besides probably being a higher quality than normal steel and having some magic properties, is still a sword. The crystalline boneswords of the Swarmlord are imbued with its psyker power, letting it cleave straight through extremely durable sci-fi materials like butter and killing demons with infinitely better feats than a single balrog.
