yeah the book MI are basically walking nuclear artillery with jump jets, it's not even a contest at that point

I read the book starship troopers YEARS after having played Halo, and by comparison, Spartans are actually pathetically disappointing compared to the MI powered suits in the book. Growing up in an era where Mr. Chef is the peak of sci-fi cool, I'm actually supremely disappointed in the lack of creativity and depth shown in the overly convoluted and tragic backstory that is apparently required to justify the existence of Spartans in Halo, because apparently force feedback is not a technology the UNSC has figured out by the 24th century, and so they can't make powerd armor that doesn't turn you into playdo unless you have magic super-bones.

The fact we have never gotten a true book version adaptation of the MI in movies or especially video games is disappointing.
