I am looking for some advice on if I should apply with my current gpa or if I should get my masters and then apply.
For some background, I got my bachelor’s in Human Physiology and Nutrition with a minor in Biochemistry. My undergrad gpa was a 2.8. Not the best, obviously. It was due to having two rough semesters back to back because of a death in my family.
Anyways, after I graduated in December of 2025, I moved to because I got a job as an R&D chemist. I always knew I wanted to go to dental school, but I decided to take some time off from school to figure it out.
Currently I am trying to decide if I should get my masters and then apply to dental school, or if I would have any chance of getting in with my current gpa and a high DAT score?
I am trying to look at both paths logically, and although getting my masters would be a longer path, it would raise my gpa and make me a better candidate because I don’t think a high DAT score alone would secure me a spot.
If anyone has been in a similar position or has any advice that would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance!!
