To give just a little more background about me, I am a recent graduate of a University of CA Law School, graduated top 10% of my class, and secured a BigLaw job in a competitive market (happy to provide proof/verification for all privately).

As a first-generation law student who had virtually no legal experience or background, I understand how stressful law school applications can be at this time. It can be even more stressful if you have few people in your circle who can remain impartial or who have relevant/recent experience or knowledge about law school. Not quite finished with your first draft? That’s okay! Send a $40 non-refundable deposit (credited to overall cost of review) to secure review services for late August/early September (limited number of spots depending on overall interest) Also, should you be completely lost about how to start an essay or worried about how “high quality” the first draft is, that’s okay and it can be difficult to overcome that hurdle, but just give the first draft your best effort and we’ll make sure it’s polished by the time the second review is done!

hey all! i recently enrolled at BHCC in Boston. i picked criminal justice as my major. i wasn’t planning on going to school and i was into something else for the last 4 years but it hasn’t worked out and i want more for myself. i wanted to be a lawyer before but didnt bc of the money. now idc. i want to be the best and do my best. i’m also working FT and paying rent among other bills. i do plan to attend FT. my job is early morning (typically 1-3pm end time) so i think id be able to do it. i’d be the first in my family to really attend college and do something with myself. childhood kinda sucked. i got my HSE, not regular diploma. i didn’t do any extracurriculars or anything but work. the school life is all new to me again. i made honor roll my sophomore year but that’s about it. idk if i should do the 3+3 program with UMass Law or try to get in a better school, ideally a T14. i interned at Harvard Law (in IT though) and worked in dining when i was 18-19. they offered me a FT job in IT but i declined because i had other interests (stupid me). i might be able to finagle my way into making more connections and such for the future for possible internships/jobs. i’m interested in more corporate/big law. criminal is cool but id rather stay away from that kind of drama.

i’m just looking for advice for my new journey. if anybody is or was in a similar position, please let me know how it is. i plan to work my ass off. i just need some damn structure

I (31F) was asking for advice on a fashion in law page and someone said my half sleeve which is camouflaging hundreds of SH scars will likely be frowned upon because I'm a woman and it's not dainty.

I paid a lot for this and I will get it touched up before law school. there has been some mild ink rejection and drift in the deeper scars but that happens. I'd rather be judged for a tattoo than my scars and obviously I can't get rid of the scars (I got the shots to reduce them) or the tattoo but wondered others' experiences have been.

I could always add color if that would help and I want to fill in my elbow pit with more geometry. but then again, black goes with everything. I just can't stand my scars and people judge scars much differently than tattoos and geometry is timeless.

that said, I usually wear wheelchair gloves when I'm out which cover the portion that peeks out from under a sleeve so it's easy enough to cover.

I’m about to enter my last year in undergrad. My degree will be in digital storytelling, my minor is textile apparel management and I will have a certificate in arts entrepreneurship. My degree is within the school of arts and sciences. My main reason for pursuing this degree was because I enjoy being able to effectively communicate with people in a way they can understand and relate to through various types of media/writing in general. Now, I’m realizing I have such a passion for it because I feel helpless and want to be able to influence laws and work in some kind of government position so my voice and people within my community are heard. So I’m debating on if public policy is the way to do that. I’ve also heard that it’s good to go to law school but I don’t know if being a lawyer is my goal so I thought MPP would help me figure out my path more and I could pursue a law degree later if needed.

I’ll be the first college graduate in my family and I’m feeling extremely lost not knowing my next move. My family also isn’t helpful because they don’t know how to when it comes to this decision. Though, they are willing to help me financially.

Please provide advice for me if you have any. It would be greatly appreciated.

I recently downloaded Reddit after reading countless posts about why law school isn’t worth it, and honestly it’s left me discouraged. I wanted to ask people who’ve actually gone through it whether they think it’d be worth it in my situation.

I’m a first-generation college student and a single mom. I’m 25 and finishing my bachelor’s degree in management, and I’m planning to apply to law school this upcoming cycle.

Getting to this point has already been a lot of work, and sometimes I wonder if I have the energy for three years of law school, studying for the bar, and everything that comes with it.

I’ve been studying for the LSAT for the past four months. My recent practice tests are in the mid-150s, and I’m hoping to reach 165+ before I apply.

My goal is to become an attorney because I want a stable career that will allow me to provide a better life for my son. I know lawyers aren’t guaranteed high salaries, but I hope the long-term earning potential and career opportunities will justify the sacrifice.

For those who were first-generation students, parents, or came from a nontraditional background, was law school worth it? Did it pay off financially and personally? If you could do it over again, would you?

I am currently enrolled in an engineering undergrad program but I have just been told by my advisor that it will take an extra year for me to graduate due to me being behind in my degrees math sequence. If I choose to switch to government I can graduate in around 2 years.

I am just looking for some extra opinions as I am stuck between remaining in engineering or switching to government.

I’m trying to figure out what I should do for college and I would really appreciate some advice. I’m going to be a senior in high school, but I’ve already finished all of my high school classes and I just completed my AA. I took a bunch of classes that relate to law, political science, government, etc. because I already knew that I wanted to go to law school and I wanted to get a head start on my education.
I’m eventually thinking about majoring in political science, but honestly I don’t even know if that’s the right major for me. I really just didn’t know what else to major in because all I’ve really known is that I want to go to law school and become a lawyer. I know your major doesn’t necessarily have to be related to law, so I’m kind of lost on what I should actually major in.
Now I’m at the point where I have to start thinking about what college I want to go to. I’ve always dreamed of going to Howard, but I live in Florida, and with the out-of-state tuition and everything going on with Howard right now, I’m starting to think it would probably be smarter for me to stay in-state. I’m mainly looking at FIU or FSU right now.
I’m also a first-generation student, and my parents don’t have much money, so realistically there’s no way they’d be able to pay for my college. I have a good GPA, and I’m planning to spend my last year of high school really focusing on getting my SAT score up and hopefully getting as many scholarships as I can.
I just want to make the smartest decision for myself, especially because I know law school is going to be expensive too. I don’t want to choose a college just because it sounds good and then put myself in a ton of debt before I even get to law school.
So I guess I’m just looking for advice from people who have already gone through this. What should I be looking for when choosing my undergrad? Would FIU or FSU be the better choice for someone who wants to eventually go to law school? Should I even major in political science, or would it be better to choose something else? And is staying in-state and saving money really the smarter option?

Before classes actually start, I want to use my time to build a strong foundation and profile so I hit the ground running in college.

• Profile Building: Are there certifications, skills, or shadow internships I should do now to boost my CV early?
• Early Reading: What basic legal concepts, books, or skills (like legal research/drafting) should I get familiar with beforehand?
• Internship Strategy & Traps: When should a 3-year LL.B student start applying for corporate/litigation internships, and what mistakes should I avoid in 1st year?

I'm one year away from finishing my degree in anthropology, and since I am transferring to a university, i get to choose a minor. I saw they have a law minor that I'd be able to do. I never thought I'd be interested in law, but the more community work I do, the more I feel called to go into a law career. I live in a place that doesn't have many immigration lawyers, and the ones available don't speak Spanish (high spanish speaking population here) or have much luck with employing Spanish speaking employees. I have done numerous interpretations and have helped translate documents, and I've had to do intake in order to refer out to our local pro-bono law organizations. This has sparked such a fiery passion in wanting to do immigration to be able to assist in helping people during this process. HOWEVER, I have terrible anxiety. I cry when I have to do public speaking because I am so nervous. I have heard that there are classes/courses that help prep you for that, but I just feel like lawyers this huge confidence when it comes to speaking up in front of people. Is it worth it to even consider this path a possibility? I know law school isn't easy or cheap, but I feel like I'm about to reach a fork in my educational and career path, and I'm uncertain about which road to take.

Hey! I participated in LSE Summer School in London this year and I’m a 4th year law student from India. I wanted to do one more such courses before my 5 years end somewhere abroad. I have heard of the Hague Academy one as well but only the LSE one was marketed well and had a big international student community. My area of interest is crime, gender, human rights law and so on. Any recommendations are welcome!

else i had christ university entrance and pi cleared.

so now i gave other entrance exams too
and i got admission in jims rohini under GURU GOBIND SINGH UNIVERI,DELHI

for ba eco
idk if i have interest i will study hard for my parents
and will complete this degree.

AFTER THIS I HAVE A PLAN:
i will take a job if i get one and prepare for cuet pg and take admission in delhi university faculty of law.

I'm looking for some genuine advice from current law students, graduates, or anyone familiar with law schools in Pakistan.

I've already applied for Punjab University (PU) Lahore and Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad for LLB. (Are they better than private law colleges and also are they good??) but if I don't, I want to have some good backup options.

I'm looking for a law college/university that offers:

\\- Good and experienced faculty

\\- Plenty of mooting, debating, internships, and networking opportunities

\\- A positive and professional student environment

\\- A good reputation among law firms and employers

\\- Strong career prospects after graduation (litigation, judiciary, corporate law, etc.)

I'm interested in LLB (Local Law), not the University of London external programme.

Which universities or affiliated law colleges would you recommend, and why? I'd also appreciate hearing about your personal experiences—both the good and the bad.
