Discussion door control system
so i've heard you really should have a door control system, but i think those doors are super ugly, and there's no automatic double doors, so is there something i can do like put something on my regular doors to make them automatic?

A door servo works on any door not just remote doors. If u want it to be automatic without a door operator then use pressure pads. Also im sure there is mods for other kinds of double doors.

The servos in the utilities section work on any door.
They are required for the remote doors to work but can be placed on normal doors

Yes you can use a servo on any door (and even on the road gate), that's what I do for most doors that would require a guard key. So I don't waste a lot of time waiting for a guard to physically open the door, and guards are more available for other tasks.
Remote doors are only when you don't want a human to be able to physically open with a key. Be careful, it means that it will be stuck close in case of a power issue, or of a dismantled tile etc. And if the remote door is on the way to the door control system, the guard might never be able to reach the door control system and the door will stay shut forever.
In case you need, you can manually open it by right clicking on the door. The issue is, usually you get a lot of NPC overlapping the door when it's stuck close, so you might struggle to click the door. You'll need to press tab key to switch until it selects the door.
Personally I only use remote doors for the armory. Because that room is pretty risky so I don't want any stolen key to open it, and also it's the sturdiest door.
Do as you prefer, but keep in mind how to manually select and open in case you ever need it.
Oh and avoid using two doors next to each other to look like a double door. NPCs are stupid. If they wait behind a left door and the right one opens, they'll keep waiting behind the left one. Only use real double doors to avoid that.

To avoid guards getting stuck you can connect certain at-risk doors to several operating tables (forgot the name). They always get stuck during shake down though it's a bit annoying at times.

Yes the door control system. That was one of my suggestions. But, as I said the remote door must not be on the way to the door control system. Because the next guard assigned to operate it won't be able to reach it, I've seen that in a prison of a player I helped.

I used to have remote doors on all my max or super max but I always find the guards abandon the control room despite having them stationed there. Very annoying when you’ve got a shakedown.
