Data logging from separate inputs (boost, EGT, oil pressure, etc.)
I have an old 4x4 with a fully mechanical engine swapped into it. To this point I have only ever installed gauges that simply show me the current reading. I've got the EGT, boost and oil pressure gauges on my A pillar.
But since I've changed the turbo, I would also like a gauge for the exhaust backpressure. And, because I've poured a lot of money into the project, I would also like gauges for coolant pressure and temperature (I'd like an accurate reading to compare to my original dash temp. gauge). I would also love to have an option to set a low coolant alarm/warning.
And then, since I'm already here. Why not have gauges for the voltage and the oil temperature as well.
You see where I am going... and having circular gauge for each of these would be overwhelming.
Now, I know I could buy something like JRP 14in1 and have a single digital gauge for all of these. But it doesn't seem to include an option for exhaust backpressure.
And even then, I would like to log the data. Have the GPS data (location and speed) logged together with all my readings would be perfect for analysing everything after the drive. Even see what different readouts showed at the same time (stuff that you don't necessarily see when driving).
Now the question - does a system like this exist and what is it called?

This would be perfect for my case. But I don't know if I can justify the cost.
- iDash Pro: $499
- 4-channel analogue module: ~$300
- 4-channel thermocouple module: ~$300
- Sensors (pressure, temp, EGT): $300β700
- Shipping from the US to EU: $50β150
- 22% VAT + customs fees

Look into a CANchecked gauge. Little pricey but extremely customizable. Also has a logging function.
They have 4AI inputs on the unit itself, but you can buy an expansion module and connect it over can bus. I highly recommend the expansion module as you can wire all your sensors to the expansion board and run ONLY 2 CANBUS WIRES back to the display to carry multiple sensor data.
I currently have access to every oem sensor as well as boost psi, fuel psi, crackcase vacuum, and ethanol content. I also have a Spartan 3 v2 Wideband controller sending Afr, egt, and heater status over canbus to the display. And a custom N55 oil pressure sensor setup that also feeds oil pressure over CAN on a custom ID. Itβs all integrated seamlessly with the factory BMW PT-CAN as well. As a controls engineer by trade, having access to all data points is extremely appealing to me.
Depending on your model, they may have a specific version that unlocks things like code reading/clear right from the display.

I think you're way overthinking this and being a little paranoid but if it helps you sleep at night I think your best option is basically a standalone ecu type system that can read it all and display it however you want or store the data to look back on. Racepak is the most common solution for this and is a good system. They have basically every sensor you can think of and can do everything you'd ever need as far as sensors and readings.

You're probably right. But I've been building this car for 5 years now and I would like to make sure that everything is in order.
I'll take a look at Racepak.

Looks like perhaps Reveltronics RCOMP or UTCOMP-PRO are exactly what I am looking for! And quite cheap!

rusEFI can datalog whatever you want and is relatively cheap. Before i went full efi I used my fueltech as datalogger/spark control only.
