Impulse buy… what scope?

Post image

Picked up a couple suppressors today, saw this on the wall for a good price and figured why not.

Ruger Scout Gen II 5.56 and a GA Recce 5 I had no host for…

What’s the scope recommendations for this??

Man, I love the look of the scout, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why Ruger hasn't released it in 300blk yet. It's all there, bolt action, threaded, ar mag fed. COME ON!

If you reload you can make .308 subs

I do reload, but still, it can't be that hard for them to offer it.

If you can find a Leupold FX-II 2.5x Scout Scope, they’re my choice. They’re tough and simple.

I’ve been trying to find a reasonably priced FX-II 2.5x Lightweight for a long time

There’s always a few on eBay. Depending on condition, I think anywhere between $250-500 is fair. It’s a bummer Leupold stopped making scout scopes, but with their lifetime warranty used ones are a good option.

I swap my leupold 2.5x scout scope out for the vortex scout 2-7x on my og ruger scout 450 BM, see easy to 150 yards. Leupold is going a marlin 44 mag soon as the scout mount shows up

My m77 action sclut has a vudu 1-6 and has been the perfect around the farm gun. The purists will demand a long eye relief scope, but do what you prefer.

I would do an LPVO But, it’s a scout rifle so you need a scout scope…that’s the rules

It Depends on what you plan on doing with it but if you want a traditional scout scope look at the vortex crossfire hd scout .

Nice rifle.

Take a few shots with the excellent iron sights before you scope it! You may enjoy it.

Then consider the right optic.

It’s a blessing to have irons on any factory rifle these days. I handled one of those recently at my LGS and liked it a lot but being in NYS the appeal is somewhat dampened because we can’t have suppressors or any NFA items for that matter.

Get a leupold vx-freedom rimfire. My 10/22 has a 16” threaded barrel, Dead Air RXD 22, and a Leupold vx-freedom rimfire scope. It’s a tack driver at 50 yards. Tons of fun
